TO ME, BUT IT WAS SENT BACK TO USCIS BECAUSE USCIS PUT THE WRONG MAILING ADDRESS. I CALLED USCIS AND GAVE ME THE STATUS ON IT AND DID NOT GIVE ME MORE INFO ABOUT WHY THE WHOLE PACKET WAS SENT INSTEAD OF THE RECEIPT. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT IT MEANS THAT THEY SENT THE WHOLE PACKET BACK TO ME INSTEAD OF THE RECEIPT? I ALREADY CHANGED THE ADDRESS WITH THEM AND I WILL BE GETTING THE PACKET FROM THEM WITHIN 2 WEEKS.

THANKS FOR YOUR COOPERATION.

It could be for any reason, a missing document needed for them to get started, a missing form, payment missing, wrong amount being paid or even a check made out to the wrong agency. They need to tell you why they sent the packet back to you in the first place so you can re-send it with whatever info it was missing or needed.

Ours came back this time a year ago because the amount on the check wasn't correct. I didn't make any changes in the file, but re-sent with a new check, so the delay was only about two weeks.
