Good morning! I have bad news to share. I lost the baby two days ago. I have been accepting the situation and working towards getting healthy for the next try.

OH NO!!! Hugs and prayers for you both. Sooooo sorry. Bigger hugs around everyone and the challenges of the week.

The longer it takes to introduce yourself the less you've actually accomplished

Mrs. J, I'm sorry for your loss. You and your hubby are in my prayers.

Leedah, I was thinking about your sponsorship issue. I don't know your exact status student/working etc. but if you're in school your student loans (while they are not taxable, may count toward your income). PM me if you want more info on how to do this. Also, if you are working I can't image that you are not a least close to meeting the minimum 125%. How ever much you are short, if you can prove 3x that amount in savings (or other assets) you should be covered. If you are $3000 away from meeting the guidelines, $9000 in a savings account would cover you. You could borrow money from friends maybe with the understanding that it will be paid back immediately after interview/visa issuance. I know its hard to get a loan now, but it might not hurt to try, especially a lower interest place like a credit union. Just thought I'd mention these in case it might be helpful.

And completely unrelated- I made a new recipe tonight....Brazilian Chicken with green pepper salad. Its a pretty forgiving recipe (I don't think I actually measured anything). It was sooo good, I'm glad I made enough for leftovers! http://www.recipezaar.com/Brazilian-Chicke...rb-Salad-349195

Hey reeses,

Thanks for those tips. I have student loans but not the kind that are paying me. lol

Anyway, what are some things I could use to make up that 18,000+?

I have a settlement annuity that is over $300,000. but they were acting like that didn't count towards anything.

Though I plan to be at this last interview to explain everything myself, if they let me.

I am completely at a lost now. I have asked all family members and they were like, "I'm not giving my tax returns to nobody!".

Basically, one person (moms) said no and it was a domino effect for the whole family. Sheez.

I'll let you all know whether i'm about to be an expat or not. hahaha.

Leedah,

Wow, I didn't realize the next interview was so soon! I'm glad you'll be there to explain the annunity....clearly that should meet the financial requirements. Also, are your filing an I-134 or I-864 (I'm not sure which one is used for a spousal visa). I'm asking because I noticed on the I-864 it says that the immigrant can be excluded from this form if he/she can be credited with 40 hrs of work credit from a spouse. I'm not sure how to do this and the link USCIS provides is expired....maybe searching SSA.gov would be helpful. Anyway, I mention this as a last resort. I think transferring work credits could have some bearing on your retirement benefits so professional advice (financial advisor? lawyer?) would be a good idea.

In explaining your annuity, it would be a good idea to include official documentation of how you got it (inherited/lawsuit etc). Can you document the distributions that you take? In other words is the annuity managed by a financial institution that provides statements and you can track a withdrawl from the annuity account into a personal checking account from which you pay your bills?

In any case, I'm sure you're doing everything you can. I wish you the best of luck! I'll be praying for you!!!

------

Also, I was checking out your RebTel link in your signature. How do you make your free 10 minute call. direct/web/mobile? Does it matter. Think I'm ready to give it a try. I trying to cut my budget! lol.
