I'm not hostile at all, just pointing out inconsistancies. You want to know how a person will handle your money you look at how they handle their own. All I have done is point out that priorities are very askew!

I want this nation to celebrate this awesome time in history, it should be celebrated, but it doesn't need the extravagence, ESPECIALLY in light of the WORLDWIDE economic breakdown. Clinton's inaugeration was $33 MILLION, there is NO reason that Obama NEEDS to spend nearly 5 times that amount. We are in a time in history when we need to think of necessity FIRST before extravagence.

It's ABSOLUTELY ridiculous where we as Americans put our money and what we value. Actors, models, athletes, politicians. CEOS ... the work they do IS NOT worth the money we pay them, or how about $3 MILLION for a 30 second Super Bowl commercial. A single mom bustin' her a$$, workin' 3 jobs to barely scrape by and give her kids the best she can is doing work MORE valuable than some rookie blue-eyed blonde model who works 8 hours, does one runway shoot and makes $10K. Yet we as nation value the model more, or the athlete or actor who provides us entertainment. Which brings me back to the inauguration, it should be an HONOR to perform and be at this historical event yet it is treated as just another big paying gig.

Hey ya'll. My timing has been on point in this forum lately. Always missing the drama!! That must be why I always have a smile on my face these days. I got free HBO this weekend so I was able to see the inaugural celebration at the Lincoln Memorial. I enjoyed it. I was looking for you Boaz!! FYI, the artists performed for free. Sad as it is, the majority of the costs of this celebration has been security. They haven't needed to be this vigilant on security before. And I won't lie, I've been holding my breath that this man must be wearing bullet proof suits for the past year. God Bless him. I wouldn't want to be a walking target for the next four years. Especially to perform such a thankless job. Pobrecito! I expected someone to have taken a shot by now.
