Hubby made pepper soup last evening.......it was so hot, it set my insides on fire!!!!!! It was my first time having it and I will not :no: have anymore of that unless he can make it with less peppers.

My husband made some a while ago. He had made it so hot that neither of us could eat it :lol:

:lol::lol:

hey y'all is this an authentic recipe for Peppa-soup? :unsure:

What you need

  • two pounds goat meat, lamb or mutton (beef for stew can also be used); cut into bite-sized pieces
  • one or two onions, quartered
  • two or three hot chile peppers, cleaned and chopped
  • peppersoup seasoning (see below)
  • four cups meat broth or stock
  • two tablespoons ground dried shrimp
  • one small bunch fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • one tablespoon fresh or dried utazi leaves (or bitterleaf) (see below)
  • salt and black pepper to taste
and if so, what is "utazi?" :blink:

p.s. I got this from the congocook book

Hubby left out some ingredients according to the recipe....did not use peppersoup seasoning, any shrimp or leaves but

he sure did grind about 5-6 hot chile peppers. Is that the reason it was so hot? :blink: I am going to try this recipe!!!! Utazi must be one of the dried green vegetable leaves.

thanx Robin. :unsure: ..ooops, I mean Forchicka B) . I eventually googled it and found out what it is and how much to use. Apparently, the utazi is very strong in flavor so only a small amount is needed.

My six year old just started public school this year. She's in the second grade and her "friends" taught her to wear her pjs on backwards so that there will be enough snow to close school. She knows the weather forecast better than I do now! When she was private school she loved going to school. But maybe she was just too young to decide that days off were heavenly. But really I know it's just other people's kids that spoiled by baby's love for learning!
