What are the advantages/disadvantages of getting SSN with MAIDEN name?

What are the advantages/disadvantages of getting SSN with MARRIED name?

I heard from somebody that it will take time to get SSN if I apply using the married name because of verification thing and he added that I'll have a problem when I will be applying for a job.

i applied for SSN after marriage and i got it in 9 days... the woman was nice and she didnt even ask for the EAC like others do.. just the marriage certificate to show the name change thats all...i even put my maiden name as my middle name and she was ok with that...

me and my husband thought its better to apply in my married name cos we dont need to go over the process and renew the SSC after the marriage ...
