The work permit arrived Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday Abderrafie went out looking. He has already had a full-time job offer, but he plans on declining because he will hopefully get something that pays more. Still, it is promising to get an offer so quickly, and I love how he set about finding work with such determination.

Back to work for me.

hey everyone. hope your thursday is good................

so we talked to the lawyer in Canada last night. he told George some positive news, at least we have something to shoot for now. Because of his criminal record and deportation from the US, he has to wait until Nov 21 2008 to apply, that seriously isnt that long considering we could be waiting more then 10yrs to go back to America. he told him that the result will be positive and he will work on his whole case as well as getting him the job offer so it looks like we will be going to Canada. Not as quick as i hoped, but i cant complain. in the mean time i will be spending some time here and some time in America taking care of things and getting custody of my son. Ive moved my trip date up from Oct 22 to Sept 27 so it gives me some extra time home and things. I will still come back here before Christmas and the next year we will see how much of the year i spend between here and there.........................sorry that was a mouthful.

October 31, Embassy received petition

November 1, Embassy called to set up fingerprint appointment

November 4, Fingerprint appointment

November 23, Fingerprint check results came in - Thumbs up

November 30, Fiance picks up packet 3

December 5, Call embassy to set up interview date

December 5, Pick up medical results

December 28, embassy tells us they screwed up

I haven't emailed Athens since they told me that they have my case. The file has been there for over 3 months now. I will email them next week to see if there is any updates.

I will be off in 54 days. We will have to meet when I get there.

I am so excited about the trip. It will be wonderful to finally be in the same country as my love.

Have you tried to see if you can find a job while you are there.

Mohammed had me call DOS today... woman scared me half to death. "Sorry nothing is coming on my computer, it must have been moved to NVC." I'm grasping my chest in horror but managed to muster up enough sensibility to say "What happened?" The she said, "Oh, maybe I mistyped it." #($#$*! Magically, after retyping the number, up pops our case. The only info I could get was "pending". After that scare I was happy to get that!
