Wow. Hopefully there is a VALID reason for your desire to get on the backs of working US Taxpayers. Hm. It's difficult for me to restrain my reaction after reading this.

well i think your response was uncalled for... and unjustified...

tobias... assisted housing living = also known as HUD is in place for families who qualify for it... and no, it will not affect your green card... the public assistance that it refers to is TANF and medicaid... good luck!

Wow cant belive you would condem someone for needing affordable housing... where we live you can not rent a 1 bedroom apartment for less than $1250 a month... that is ok if you earn enough to pay this and still have money to live....

To the OP using HUD is not going to cause you problems and I hope you find a good house for you and your family....

tobias,

You should contact the agency that is offering this program and ask them if you are eligible. There are so many different programs that it's impossible to say exactly what you're asking about. If it is considered to be a "means-tested benefit" then you should proceed with caution and get some more information.

There is a recent thread about getting HUD benefits. From what I read, it's not a good short term solution--there can be long waiting lists to be accepted into the program.

Is there a reason your USC sponsor can't apply?
