I met my girlfriend in boston and we became very serious hence resulting in me overstaying my i-94 wavier visa by 8 months, apon trying to re-enter the us i was taken in for questioning and i was subsequently served with a withdrawal of application for admission/consular notification document and returned home immediately.i know that i am know admissable for the 1-94 programme in the future but i wanted to know of any futher implications?

my girlfriend and i are in a very serious relationship and plan on spending the future together.should we file the i29-f or i-130 from inside or outside the us? will my voluntary withdrawal have any effect on our application? has this happened to anyone before? my girlfriend is american and i am irish.

we would greatly appreciate any help or advice

Thank you!

voluntary withdrawal, NO... 8 month overstay? YES... You will be required to submit a "waiver" request.... so it will have an impact on your visa application but it is not necessarily a deal breaker
