Well, good for Bristol. She chose life.

LOL. Yeah, and it was such a difficult choice. Her parents are millionaires, she has access to the best private health care that money can buy, she and her partner are both white, and she has an extended family that will support her while she finishes school. She must have agonized over that decision for, like, minutes.

Even still; a lot of girls with all these same resources choose for themselves to be ... legs-spread on the table getting their would-be child, sucked out.... piece by piece.

In fact, if you have ever been to an abortion clinic (and I have) you will see most cars that pull up

don't reflect poverty. But I have never seen any stats on what the *average* family income isfor abortion service customers..... might be interesting.

I agree. Glorifying teenage unsafe sex is stupid and fvcked up. Now, can we let this ####### go?

Exactly.

Bet they wouldn't be all woo-hooing about it if Bristol had contracted a venereal disease.

Well wait a minute.... "AIDS" is the one STD you can get and instead if looking sleazy you get to play the "victim".

STFU, Danno.

You just crossed a BIG line with me.

I lost a brother-in-law to AIDS. You obviously don't know $hit about the disease or you wouldn't be running your mouth.

Yeah but the choice for a little rich girl (generalization alert) is a lot easier to make. I mean, she actually has access to the choices available to her. So yeah, I'd expect to see Lexus's and BMW's in the parking lot over beaters and walk-ups from the closest bus stop.

Out of respect for your loss, I will refrain.

Sometimes that's the best choice for a person. You can't judge unless you've been in their situation yourself. You never know everything else that's going on.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

No I am not. You are offensive on purpose - over and over and over again.

Mature people learn to measure the impact of their words on others. Apparently, you cannot.

I'd say that depends on the circumstance. If someone is sleeping with anyone they meet while lacking protection and without any regards to whom they are or what their sexual history is, then they cannot play the "victim" card. If they were in a relationship where their partner cheated on them (and contracted HIV/AIDS) or lied about their past, then I can see them being labeled a victim. The same is true from unscreened blood transfusions, although that is a rare occurrence nowadays.

That's really lame, DP. How does this "playing the victim card" manifest itself? AIDS is a terrible disease. You're trivializing the suffering of AIDS patients and people close to them. Your position seems to be that people who engage in irresponsible sexual behavior deserve whatever disease they contract. That's more than a little judgmental.

There's an abundance of information about HIV/AIDS today. Anyone with half a brain knows better than to engage in unprotected sex with a variety of people, especially if those individuals are relatively unknown to them. If this were the 1980s, when information was scarce and the medical community had virtually no idea that HIV/AIDS was, then I would agree that those afflicted are victims.

It's like smoking. There's tons of information on smoking. People know it's potentially life threatening to smoke yet many still do it. So if they contract lung cancer or emphysema then they only have themselves to blame. They knew the risks.

I don't see how. If someone knows the risks ahead of time, whatever occurs is on their head.

Just so you know... my mother died of lung cancer in 2005. She had been a chain smoker since she was 15 years-old (she died at 52). Although I loved my mother, she was at fault for the situation she found herself in.
