Hi everyone,

My son was born aboard from an extramarrital relationship, and I would like to enter him in the US. However, I am a married man, but my wife is not yet aware of this situation. My question is: As a US Citizen, would I be able to claim paternity and enter him here with me? Pleaaaaaaaaaase help me!

"but my wife is not yet aware of this situation". Might be a good idea to let your wife know that she is a stepmother before doing anything!

I don't think the poster asked for marital advise.

The the original poster: you should just need to file a report of birth abroad in the nearest Consulate to where your child lives. Perhaps they will require a DNA test. Good luck.

First you must submit an application to get a consular report of birth abroad. If determined accordingly, then the child can be issued a US passport

Hi everyone,

thank you for your answers, I'll try to submit the application, if determined, the process could be started from there. I also believe that it might be a good idea to let my wife know about the situation, which I thought that it was a little bit to early. What do you think.

Your child is your child regardless of whether your wife knows or not.
