I'm going to be using the Vermont Service Center, from what I've been reading I should consider myself lucky, they seem to be the fastest. I've looked at the time lines and I've taken the IMBRA hold up into account. My questions is this:

If IMBRA delay is over on the 9th and everything went smooth with the application process, approximately how long does the process take to get my fiancee to the states using the Vermont Service Center?

It looks like 2-4 months from the time-lines I read for Vermont! can somebody confirm this and make my day great!!!

Good luck to us all and I pray for an IMBRA solution!!!!!

06/30/06- sent I-129F petition to VSC.

07/11/06- NOA1 (received in mail)

07/19/06- RFE received in mail, IMBRA

07/28/06- e-mail, IMBRA RFE received at VSC

09/11/06- called VSC, told I'm with an adjudicating officer

09/25/06- called VSC, told to file expedited service, outside 60 days of RFE received date

09/26/06- sent expedited service request to VSC via fax and snail mail

09/26/06- Senators and Congressman making inquiries into my petition

09/29/06- expedited service request approved by VSC director

10/04/06- e-mail NOA2 approved!!!!!!

10/05/06- NVC received

10/06/06- NVC forwarded to Poland Embassy

10/16/06- Packet #3 received

10/17/06- Packet #3 sent to US Embassy Warsaw

10/30/06- Packet #4 received

10/30/06- Interview scheduled for November 22nd!!!

11/30/06- Visa in hand, via DHL!!!!

12/05/06- Ania and I arrive together in the USA

02/11/07- Ania applied for Social Security Card

02/17/07- Ania and I were MARRIED!!!!!!

07/24/07- Social Security Card in hand- after some minor issues and a little procrastination :)

10/14/07- I-485, I-765, and permission to travel mailed to USCIS

10/17/07- Received NOA1

12/17/07- I-485 shipped to California Service Center for faster service

12/17/07- I-765 approved new card should be mailed within 30 days, Advanced parole approved

02/28/08- AOS APPROVED!!!! PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD RECEIVED!!!!! (card received couple weeks after approval)

Yes VSC has been the fastest in the past and IMO they will be again as they do have a very good track record and kick azz in approving petitions. How long it takes for them to get rid of the backlog though is anyones guess.

Yes as Aussie said " In Most Cases" But not in all" there is a few of us that get stuck in maybe the trash or in the bottom of a messy desk waiting on the NOA2 hoping one day to be found :(

Yup. You could be lucky or not so much, so it can take 3-8 or even more months. It's a leap of faith and a matter of luck. :P

Personally I would prepare for atleast 6 months minimum (that way if it comes sooner then bonus) ... One thing we all have learned that when it comes to this process expected the unexpected and don't make any major plans (like preparing a wedding for a certain date or pre-booking airline tickets) until you have the visa in hand ...

11-06-06 - GC & Welcome Letter arrive in Mail (Day 75)

You're using the VSC only for the petition phase, you also need to find out typical times for the consulate that will be handling the visa application (the petition is not a visa application).

Then adjsut both times for the unknown impact of IMBRA compliance.

Excellent advice! :yes: Be prepared to do everything on short notice and to possibly spend a load of money on the plane ticket once you get the visa, since you will probably buy it so close to the day of the flight.

10/13/2006: Biometrics taken

10/14/2006: NOA -- case transferred to CSC

10/30/2006: AOS approved without interview, greencard will be sent! :)

11/04/2006: Greencard arrives in the mail! :-D

... No more USCIS for two whole years! ...
