Hi,

I am preparing K-3 forms. It has been a month since our K-3 was approved. But we haven't heard anything from the US Embassy in my country. They emailed back to me and said because they are very busy they haven't reviewed the files that they have received. I assume they got our file (NVC forwarded on the Dec 8th) but not in the system yet. We hope to get the interview date in February, so I want to send everything next week. I don't want to wait packet 3.

My husband is preparing these; I-134 Form, 2007 tax returns, 2007 W-2, signed letter from my husband's employer, 3 most recent pay stubs.

My question is that if my husband can scan all these documents on the computer and email me? Thank you so much!

All this have to be original documentation, scanned documents looks like photocopies.

Each embassy is different unfortunately. The safe default is originals. Can only share what we did.

My wife brought copies of:

Tax return

W2's/1099's

Pay stubs

Bank statements

These COULD have probably been scanned and printed from PDF.

She brought originals of:

I-134 form

Signed letter from employer

We felt that not providing originals of these would look funny.

I FedEx'd the package to her. It cost about $50 and took (72) hours to get there.

Yes, original I-134 and any employer letter or bank letter. Photocopies are fine for supporting docuementation.

Photocopying is a scan and print process, so scan in the USA and print in another country is equal to a photocopy, not an original.

Faxed and scanned copies of tax returns are OK in the Philippines. Check with your embassy.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

Thanks to you all.. I think the best thing to give them the originals. Do you think I should wait for the packet 3 in the mail or ask my husband to send his documents now????? I don't want him to send me extra papers a second time and give another $50 for fedex. Can the embassy want anything else other than these documents? Thank you again for your help.

Mrs.Rhoades I am so happy for you. This is great!!! Yay!!!

I'll call the embassy tomorrow to see if they sent me the package, but they emailed me acouple of days ago and said they haven't received our K-3 yet.. We'll see.. I hope they are not still on the christmas holiday :)

I got my police certificate here in Turkey. I also lived in the state 3 years, but I don't need to get police certificate from the state. I also prepared translated marriage certificate, both original and translated birth certificate, copies of my passport (full pages) and photographs. Did I miss anything else?

Keep in touch!

I wish we both get the interview date in February..

I sent an exact copy of EVERYTHING we filed along with the I-134 stuff.

NO. As said before, my wife brought originals of the I134 and signed employer letter to her documents check/interview. With that was copies of taxes/W2's. When I FedEx'd those documents to her I also sent her copies of the I129F/I130 petition packages along with copies of the I129F/I130 NOA1/NOA2's in case she needed anything from them.

Not really. If it's a signed document, then provide the original. If it's a supporting document, provide a photocopy. If you don't hand over the original to the Consulate what other possible purpose would the original serve in the case of an affidavit or employer letter?
