I've been waiting over 4 months to hear about my fiance's K1 visa (NOA1 was 01/18/06) and although the processing times chart for CSC show that they have been processing cases from FEb 3 for over a month and a half now...still NOTHING, NO SIGNS OF LIFE!!

I went to my nearest immigration office and found out about a G 731 form and was told that I could write a letter explaining why they should expedite processing (does complete emotional breakdown count?? ).

My question is simple...has anyone ever filed this form with success? Please give me your feedback!!

I was told by a lawyer that requesting any information about my application could actually cause it to go to the bottom of the pile :hehe: (do we fiance's need anymore torture??)

I look forward to hearing from you out in Visa Journey land!!

Please look on the K-1 forum for the "IMBRA" related threads. This will explain what has happened to processing of I-129fs.

The expedite criteria are very specific, and posted at each Service Center's webpage. Complete emotional breakdown is not on there, but let's hope it won't come to that! :)

Perhaps the lawyer meant that if your case is pulled aside for this type of request, the investigating of whether you qualify or not may take longer than the actual case would've if it had been left to do its own thing. I have seen other lawyers say the same/similar.

I can tell you, if you try to monitor this on a day to day basis, you *will* drive yoruself nuts. There is a great thread going right now on ways to deal with missing each other and surviving this process intact. Many, many here have gone through long waits apart, and I admire the ones who do so gracefully. maybe they can be of some inspiration to you, too.

:)
