Hello,

I am new to this website and have a few questions. I got married to my wife in april when she came to america, we were going out for a while but we got married as an impulse thing. She is a british national so she came on her VWP. Then after a week she went back and is working and i am working in boston. She is finishing her job soon and we are thinking of her getting here as soon as possible (with in 6-10 months). Now i was wondering what options i have. I have read a few ways, and would like to know your input.

a) i apply for the i 130 with in a week, can she still come for a week or soo to see me once in a while by using the visa waiver? Will she be allowed to enter?

b)If i dont start the process and she comes here and i apply for a AOS, Would we have voilated the VWP and will she get banned?

c)what do you think is the fastest way for her to get here?

Thank you in advance.

A. People do so.

B. Can't do so without committing fraud

C. K3 the fastes but CR-1 is MUCH better visa but a month or so longer. Since she can visit I'd go with the CR-1 for sure.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

I haven't checked recent timelines. My guess would be about 8 or 9 months for the K3 and 1 or 2 months longer for the CR-1. Depends on how efficient you are with the paperwork.

My wife applied for the ESTA and they said Travel denied. So i dont know why but she cant use the visa waiver anymore. I am thinking of applying for her to come here soon. Does any one know the latest time frame for british passport holders to get a visa? Should i fill out both k and i 130?

Also, what abt the fiance visa? can i not apply for that to get her here quicker?

Thanks

If you are married then you cannot file for the fiance visa because, obviously, you are already married.

We only went the CR-1 route and did not file the K3 and are happier for it, but different people have different reasons why they chose the K3

Good luck!

Is the vermont centre slower then other centres? Do you know if one centre has more volume and has a slower process time then another?if soo, which one is the fastest?

It varies, but right now it seems that California is processing faster. But it doesn't matter because you cannot choose where you file your petition. You send it to a lockbox in Chicago and it gets placed for you.

Good luck!
