Hey Guys,

I am taking the I-130 route for my wife who is in Nepal. Last week, I sent my AOS package to NVC. Now I am getting ready for DS-230 package. I do have few questions that I need clarification though.

I have all the originals for marraige certificates, birth certificates, police certificates, etc for me and my wife... I also have the english translations for those certificates... She has sent me signed DS-230 Form. I am planning to send the DS-230 Package from USA so that it reaches in a timely manner. The doubts I have are:

1. Should I send the Originals for all the forms in the DS-230 package?

2. I read that I can send certified copies... Can I make the certified copies of all the forms in USA itself as the originals are with me now?

3. Somewhere I read that we have to send passport size photos of spouse too? Is that a requirement for DS-230 package?

Thanks guys for taking time to read this and thanks a lot for your response.

Regards!

Looks like we are at the same point, maybe our spouses will have their interview on the same day??

1. I believe that with the exception of your wife's passport all forms should be originals - am not sure about certified copies. I am sending Govi's original birth certificate and PCC along with English translations as well as our court marriage certificate (which was already in both English and Nepali).

3. Yes, 2 passport photos are required 2" x 2" and you need to write the NVC case # and your wife's name on the back (no ball pen or it will show on the front).

Also include a cover letter where you list all supporting documents.

Good luck and let's keep an eye on each other's progress!

I will send originals too, but worried that they don't lose it.

Send it by USPS EMS and get a tracking number(I think it's given automatically) - I don't think I have heard of anyone's docs getting lost in the mail. If you are really worried then maybe send it FedEx.

I can't wait to make momos for mero buda - I miss him..... :crying:
