Hello everyone,

so a little late in posting, but for all the curious in El Salvador this is how our Doctor's appointment went. We made the appointment with Dr Beltran Montes because someone else here had posted about how easy it was. We made the appointment about two days before and were advised the amount could be up to 250. This is what they asked of us to bring: A photocopy of his passport and id sized (tamano cedula) photo. Also three copies of passport, one photocopy and original letter sent in packet 4. (I might be a little hazy on the specifics, but this is what I remember)

Anyway we were called the day off to see if we were coming and arrived promptly at one pm. Once there we showed our photocopies and original letter and photo (must be recent) to the receptionist.

The doctor came in and called my husband in, this is what happened. They sat a a desk and the Dr asked him to say a little about himself. And my husband asked what about. The doctor then asked if he had ever been hospitalized, if he had ever smoked or if he drank. He was also asked if he smoked weed and a variety of drugs he never heard of. He was also asked if he had heart conditions, any medical conditions, and mentioned hepatitis and a bunch of others he is unfamiliar with. He was then weighed and his height was measured. He was then placed on the bed to listen to his heart and breathing. And since he did not have been vaccinated the doctor prepared the vaccines. He was given three vaccines all at once and the doctor was all business. He was then told to pay 190, and to wait outside to await his results. He was then given a paper with all the vaccines he had taken and we were instructed to go to have his x-rays and blood work done. It was quite convenient since both places were in the same building. Each place received its own copy of the passport and a paper from the doctor.

For the x-rays he just stood in front of the machine and they took two and was out in a jiffy. As for the blood work it was just as quick, they filled a vial and he was outta there.

We had my husband return the next day for the results from the doctor since both places send the results to the doctor. The receptionist told us to wait until monday to call the embassy to schedule the appointment (since we were only missing the doctors info) because they would inform the embassy that day Friday that we had gone for our visit. My husband was also specifically told that the x-rays were not to be taken to the interview. He was told that either the airport at El Salvador or our arriving airport would look at his x-rays. He was advised if neither opened his x-rays he could then open them himself. THis makes no sense to me, but I am just relaying info. He was also told that the vaccine paper was not neccessary but was just in case he inquired about work or school and they needed to see if he had been vaccinated. Again don't know about that, but am just telling you.

The costs were as follows: 190 for the doctor, probably because he did not have his vaccines. And for the other two they were a little less than 30 dollars for each. I am sorry, but I can't find the receipts. =(

Anyway, hope this helps all those wondering what goes on.
