buying textbooks online

Any of you buy your textbooks online instead of from the uni bookstore?

I looked at Amazon and my books for next semester are like $260 cheaper than at the bookstore. With as many books as I have left to buy for my many years left of school I figure it will save me a lot of money in the long run.

Anyone know of any other sites that are good for buying textbooks?

I bought all my textbooks, apart from one, online when I was as uni, usually from Amazon. Most were second hand aswell, as long as they were the correct issue/edition they were fine. I got a couple from eBay too.

The one I had to buy from uni was a specialist law/forensics one, luckily it wasn't too expensive.

Well, when I was in college, my uni rented us books :)

But the high school at which I teach requires students to buy books. Many buy from UW bookstore but most just get the ISBN and edition number for clarification and buy online. Amazon, half.com, half price books, etc. You can do a google search with the ISBN and find the comparison and the cheapest book. I think it's worth it, even if it's a book you will keep for a long time, because it's no secret that textbook companies rip off the students (and teachers).

My books for next semester are $750-ish soooooo I'd rather not have to pay that much if I don't have to :P I'm a freak and I have to have new books so I can mark them up and highlight them as I want. I'd go nuts if I had to deal with someone else's highlighting. I need control over what's highlighted...I'm ####### about some things like that

I'll check out Ebay. A friend of mine just said to try half.com
