Interview time

Just curious to know how much time was spent at the consulate on interview day and was the appointment on time? My family has an 830 am interview on the 16th... I'm trying to coordinate travel plans.

Interviews are actually first come first served despite what the letter indicates. So get there as early as possible, and you could be the first interviewee done. I got there around 6:45 and was the first in line. A few other people got there between 7-7:30. The consulate doors opened at 7:30 sharp. If I am not mistaken. I was one of the first few to have an interview and I was out the door by 9:40 or so. It didn't take too long. I was called for my actual interview at 9:30 and that only took 10 minutes and I was out the door.

Remember the consulate doors are on the side street, not at the front of the building. I was confused for at least 20 minutes about that one.

Yes don't show up at 8:30; you'll be waiting awhile. I got there at 7am and was 2nd in line. I got out by 9:30, but if I went at 8:30 as the letter incdicates I would have been waiting much longer.

I got there 6:50 am and there was already a lady and two kids waiting. I got the letter A so I was first to go but I didn't get out of there until 10:20 am due to computers being down. There are vending machines there if you want a coffee or a snack so take some change (I didn't and wished I had). Good Luck and all the best in 2009!
