06/15/09 - Citizenship interview

07/15/09 - Citizenship ceremony. Alhamdulilah, the US now has another american muslim!

Thanks everyone! We didn't have the most ROMANTIC day but it was still good I guess. We went to the mall with the kids but the kids fought the entire time there and back. :wacko: Basically we spent the bulk of the day playing referee. He doesn't get it because his sisters are five years apart and although they have had disagreements for the most part they got along. I tried to explain the fact that because they are less than a year apart they get on each other's nerves more.

Anyhoo I was able to ignore it since I'm used to it and felt uber grateful all day long for everything in my life today. I'm grateful for the most tender, patient and gentle husband I could ever have asked for. I'm grateful that my children are healthy and smart. I'm grateful that, for now, we have a wonderfully cozy house to live in. I'm grateful that everyone in my family seems to be getting along lately (very rare in my dysfunctional crazy world!).

I never thought two years ago that I'd feel so much love for my husband. It just keeps growing as we hold hands and trudge our way to a happy destiny. :wub:
