Do I need original birth certificate for AOS?

I am not in the process of adjusting my status yet..but I just want to know if I need to pass an original copy of my birth certificate for AOS, because I am having a problem getting another original copy...although I got one already..but when I was trying to get another copy from the census just in case I need it,it appeared that there has been a problem with my BC...so I am a little bit worried that I might be needing another original copy when I moved to U.S. and I can't provide any....the lawyer said it will take a minimum of 6 months to fixed my BC's problem..

So, I am trying to really get a good grip on the only original copy I have...can anyone tell me what processes do I need to provide a copy of my BC? (AOS, or removing conditions or applying for citizenship?)

Thanks..

Only situation I know when the original is required is for CRs and IRs for NVC. You only need to submit copies for AOS and have original in hand if you have a interview.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Yes and No. When you send in the AOS packet, you will send photocopies of documents. But when (and if) you have an interview, you will be required to bring originals of all the documents you submitted with your AOS.

But a lot of K-visa holders get approved without an interview, so they don't have to worry about it.
