Kirsten, so sorry about your interview experience. But you'll get your documents today and you'll be on your way to Charlotte soon. Disappointing but it could have been worse, as others have said... being so mean she could have put you in AP! Maybe putting it into this prospective makes the disappointment somewhat less. Also bear in mind that while you docs might be legally tight for the UK purposes and under the UK law, that may not be the case with US. :( At least you won’t have a hassle of trying to get these papers at AOS stage. I imagine it may be more difficult to get them once you are already over in US. So overall, it’s couple of days delay and more money but maybe peace of mind somewhere down the line. (F)

As for your papers, you can ask your solicitor to copy the original or print out two copies before the original is signed and then he/she and you sign both documents. Good luck.

Also good luck tomorrow to all of you having the interview. May the red haired CO have a day off tomorrow and you all sail through.

I'm waiting for the Embassy to acknowledge the receipt of my Packet 3 (Royal Mail said it was delivered by 9am on the 21st). Does anybody know how long does it take them to just log it into the system?

I just asked the same question in the NOA2 - Interview thread...so if someone just wants to answer it here, thats fine!

Mine was really quick,as you can see from my timeline...6 days.

Sorry ignore last post! derrr! I was talking about the wrong thing!!

When I sent my packet 3 back it was logged on the system within a couple of days but it took over 3 weeks for them to get back with an interview date.

We called DOS almost everyday..it got very obsessive! lol

If you send your packet by regular mail then you won't get a signature but I sent mine by recorded delivery which has a tracking number, so when I checked the Royal Mail website it gave me the name of who signed for it.

What do they call those people? Uppers? No, Yoopers (from "U" "P" ers). And THEN, you're going to move (below the bridge) and become a TROLL!! LOL! It's the best thing I know about Michigan. That, and some place up there has good fudge (an island or something?) Summer will be a great time to fall in love with it up there...not so sure about winters. :D

We are nowhere near the UP. We are South West MI between Kalamazoo and Benton Harbor. I guess about an hour and a 1/4 south of Grand Rapids.

mackinac island!! one of my favorite places on earth. there is something about the aroma of fudge, waffle cones and horsepoop wafting through the 'downtown' area that makes you love it there.

and as for cold winters, i live in vermont (which i LOVE) and im really looking forward to a real winter with jamie. someone to help me shovel!!

Thanks for the hugs :)

I do hope you're both right and I get them soon, she certainly implied that everything else was in order and as soon as she gets the document and passports back they will return them within 5 business days!

I have a question though. The notarized affadavit that i must return...should it be the original or a copy?? I'm thinking that I will need the original now for AOS??

I'd get two to be on the safe side depending on if you get her looking it over when it gets to the embassy or like me you lose things easily, otherwise I'd send the original with a photocopy, that's what we were told to do with my police check, they kept the photocopy and sent me back the original police check (which is good because I somehow lost the second copy I had), along with my passport with the visa attached ;)
