We just kept calling DOS once a day. And I had just called the extortion line to get the email code last Thursday along with contacting the Congressman again.

will elaborate later. im late to work. i feel like i have a good excuse this morning though. i hope the confusion was nothing major either. he just wasnt sure if he was done? no one really said anything to him. he paid the courier fee and left? i think hes ok, but he was a little mystified.

Hope I'm not too late to chime on in the tea-talk. I just got home from visiting Patricia in Manchester.. 18 wonderful days together. (well minus one day for her medical.. that wasn't so wonderful)

Pat drinks PG Tips and Typhoo. We were able to find both of them stocked online at The English Tea Store. My local grocery store just started stocking curry paste so I guess we're set for that too.

Regarding kettles. I have a whistling kettle that sits on the stove but I guess that's 'not proper', so I'm shopping for an electric kettle. And after seeing Pat's in operation and how fast it boils water, I don't think I'll use the stove-top whistler again.

Just another yank trying to make the States feel like home.

This is the good news thread today.

I'm so happy for both of you girls, especially for Dairy Farmer who had to wait it out for 6+ weeks. What a relief!

I'm going to hang in here and wait on MARM and the sunshine girl Magpie to get a visa, whilst trying not to get attached to the new ones. You new Jedi warriors can take over for Yoda and help them. May the Force be with you.

and great news from us too. We have a visa interview date set for the 1st May - although they have only given us 10 days to sort our stuff out! Most of it is sorted so all I need to do is go for my medical on friday

I'm so happy for you guys! Wednesday! That's great! You must be so excited, I know I would be!

Congrats Mr and Mrs! Hope the confusion is because, as others say, it was sort of anti-climactic ("So easy, something MUST be wrong after all that!") and not because anything's wrong....Crossing my fingers that the passport+visa are in the mail soon!!

I think Nik is really close to sending the checklist back - the police cert is expected any time now (even accounting for Easter...), we just want to make sure there aren't any errors!
