first off.. congrats on the approvals!

secondly... On the kettle front, Paul heats his water for his instant coffee in the microwave, baffles me when we have a perfectly good kettle sitting not too far over on the counter, he complains that the kettle makes it too hot and he doesn't have time in the mornings to wait for it to cool down, so I let him off as he's up at 1.45am most mornings O_o

but tea's must be made with the kettle or there is all hell to pay, although it's usually just me making iced tea lol

I can't believe you guys think that water heated in the microwave tastes different!! I use the plastic water heating pitcher thing that I cheated and inherited from roommates who were too lazy to move it when they left - but only because I'm afraid my mug will one day explode in the microwave, sending ceramic shrapnel right through my head (seriously - I'm paranoid)...

Also, I dump it out all the time - firstly, it is fairly dusty in AZ - water sitting out over night tastes funny. And secondly, my cats have a habit of sticking their (full of litter) paws into water. SO! Out it goes!

Magpie, we have PG Tips here - I've seen it lots of places, so you probably don't need to import a vast amount to supply you unless you don't care for that brand.

Im with you on the paranoia, Ive cracked and blown apart many "microwavable" plates in my mum's microwave over the years, nothing that has any chance of blowing up goes into our new microwave except pauls old mug, and then I still worry about it blowing up

I know for a fact that Assam tea and Yellow Label are readily available here in the US. And I am sure you will be able to find empty tea bags as well...haven't looked up the empty tea bags or needed them, but I am sure they are available.

this is preaching to the choir, but i have derived SO MUCH comfort and support from all you guys. i think deep down, jamie understands why i am so attached to my uk vjers, but he likes to tease me. ha. i hate it though! i get really defensive and say 'noooooo. stop that. its so great. they are nice and normal people! and they know what they are talking about. dont make fun of my friends!' haha. : ) oh well. i dont care. the value of what i have learned here, my (new) ability to endure this process without a debilitating level of fear/misinformation (that was me before vj), and my sheer enjoyment of you fine people is indescribable. (try as i may with my wordy, typo-riddled, parentheses/bracket-heavy, too-much-information posts.)
