Yup, the expandable file folder is what my fiance is planning on taking along as well.

an accordion file! yes! thats what i told him! (and thats what i delivered to him in january with an I-129F packet copy and some other original documents. ungrateful git!)

from staples (i cant imagine i would have paid $17 for it though! i think it was like $9. and its great.)

this evening, when we were talking on the phone going through the papers for the interview, he banned me from saying the words 'accordion file' until further notice. (ha!)

he seems to not understand that he could probably navigate through the streets of london with said folder under his arm with little difficulty. he does not seem interested in temporarily ('kiddo, they give your stuff back') stowing his things at the pharmacy near the embassy. he is an odd boy, but i ADORE him.

ps. he is now under the impression that vj is a cult.

me: 'well, on the messageboard, it seems most people recommend x'

him: 'oh really? your cult recommends x? do they also recommend drinking the kool aid?'

i dont care. i love my cult. (yes, im talking about you.)

VJ has been known in this household as "your obsession site" since early 2007.

When we went, I brought a tote bag with our lever arch file of bumpf in it, plus a few mags and my wallet. Not considered a "large bag." A large bag would be a rolly suitcase or some such. If you're really paranoid, a carrier bag will pass muster.

So what happens if you're staying overnight & have a large bag full of clothes, toiletries, makeup etc.. Where am I meant to put that? The pharmacy doesnt take big items does it?

You are staying overnight in a hotel, correct? So you can check in your luggage in the hotel and only take exactly what you need to the embassy...of course you aren't going to haul in all your luggage to the interview!

ETA: If you are going to the interview before you check-in to the hotel, you can call the hotel beforehand and ask if you can check-in your luggage before the time you are supposed to check-in. Usually it is not a problem at all with the hotel.

You are staying overnight in a hotel, correct? So you can check in your luggage in the hotel and only take exactly what you need to the embassy...of course you aren't going to haul in all your luggage to the interview!

No problem Monkey Juice Yeah...Marble Arch Inn is very familiar with interviewees at the US Embassy, so I am sure they will honor your request and help you out since you are staying at their hotel anyway.

An excellent idea -- and bring a bottle of water because you're going to get thirsty. There are washrooms there as well if you have a bit toooo much water (like me ).

My friend got me some lovely thick Fiorentina hot chocolate for my birthday to help me cope with the AP...nummm, gonna have it now.
