:crying: Oh little Sunshine girl. {{HUGS}} It's going to be okay. I really don't think it's going to be six months. It's just hard to be back in that black hole of waiting with no control or way to check. Such a disappointment for you. So tell us how the birth certificate problems went. What did they say about that?

The interview officer looked over it and I explained what had happened. He didn't comment much on it, but then, he was this grey-haired guy with a moustache who didn't smile or anything when I was chattering about Knight or when I asked him how he was. He just said that he'd be back, went away for a few minutes, came back and gave me the news. Knight keeps trying to reassure me that it's just one more obstacle but it just hurts so much that this is something else which has been put in front of me. I don't even know what it is they're going to look at or for what reason they're going to keep me waiting. I just have this horrible blue piece of paper which feels like a suckerpunch.

Am a bit broken. Haven't been able to stop crying since I left London. Approved, but put onto AP for an indefinite period, and the guy said it was an average of 6 months right now. Was given a blue form which basically says my application requires additional administrative processing and that there's no way of tracking how long it'll be. I just have to sit on my hands and wait for an email. I don't have the energy to do anything right now. I'm sorry guys, wish I could be happier about it but it's more or less shot my plans and hopes to pieces.

A very sad, broken Magpie.

Awww Magpie /big hugs

Hopefully the six months is worst case scenario and it will be quicker than that

We got held up at NVC for 6 weeks for random AP checks, the not knowing is horrible and feeling in limbo is horrible. I am so sorry

I'm sorry Magpie, that sucks big time.

Hope the 6months is the usual butt covering timescale that they give you and you will be out of AP alot sooner.

OMGosh I am devastated for you. (((((Magpie))))) I felt sure with all your prepararation and organisation your were worrying for no reason and you would breeze through. I was praying and hoping you would be approved. If you need to talk I understand, I KNOW what you are feeling, the tears for me went on for days.

I am thinking of you and sending all good thoughts your way. Come join the AP tracker in the waivers forum, there are others there to support you too. (F)

I guess I am even more distressed now too hearing AP is averaging 6 months, they told me two weeks, but its almost four now since the call.

I'm so sorry hun, did they even give any indication that it was the birth certificate or anything else that caused you to be put into AP? If it was the birth certificate I'm sure they would have asked you to produce the original. But you haven't been denied which is the main thing.

Big hugs hun, we are all behind you.

Can you link me please, Dairyfarmer? And is there an email or MSN addy that you can PM me?

And thankums everyone again. I'm just glad that there are no words that can describe this horrible feeling because I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Magpie.

/edit: They didn't say, Laura...I just wish I knew the reasons behind it.

Hopefully all they need to do are extra checks. Lord knows why they can't do that between receiving packet 3 pack and the interview date.

Dear Knight&Magpie, I'm sorry to hear that things didn't go so well today but, as everyone else is telling you, keep your heads up high and stay positive.

I've read in several different places that the timeframes they give you are considerably over-stated on purpose, just to cover their backs, and this includes AP. So you may hear much sooner from them.

I know it's pretty much out of your control and waiting without knowing is probably one of the most painful parts but you've made it up until now and you just need to hold your ground for a little bit longer. Perhaps you can try emailing them in a few weeks to try to see where things are and if there's anything else you can supply to help their review of your case. Remind them that you're genuine and motivated, maybe also try to be as helpful and attentive as possible without rubbing them the wrong way and they might start to sympathize.

Gosh I'm worried about The Dip Sticks, I checked their profile and they don't seem to have logged in since before the interview.

I feel so awful I want some more joy. And they had been waiting for SOOOOO long.

I might attempt to call the DOS line once a week or something, because their emails have been incredibly slow...I also more or less gave them all the numbers they need to call regarding the birth certificate process. They were also meant to give me a lot of originals back, which they didn't do, so I've got concerns. I kinda want to call DOS today and ask why I was put into AP. Thankums for the advice, ahlpo.
