hmm. seems as though in order to be assigned an april 2009 interview date, your vj screen-name must begin with an S or an M.

teehee.

So April is S & M month at the US Embassy?

They really should tell you that sort of thing when confirming your interview.

Anyone know where I can get some smart/casual leatherwear?

:D Try Soho in London. My friend decided I needed an education and took me through there. I learned more than I wanted to know .

Good luck tomorrow Magpie, I will be thinking of you

Thank you...I think I'm going insane with all this waiting. :: Hugs ::

I think Mum and I will stay at the Lincoln House - looks really nice and central for both the Embassy and the Doctor's ... The flights are cheap and cheerful going from Prestwick into Stanstead, with an Express bus into the city ... it will be a dawdle ...

The Stansted Express is pretty good; I think it's about £25 return if you book on their website, and it goes straight from Stansted airport to Liverpool Street Station, where you can hop right on the Tube. Takes 45 minutes.

Mrs. sdp--Lincoln House is where we stayed. We caught the coach back to Oxford right on the street by the hotel. Lots of coach services drop off or pick up on Gloucester Pl or Baker Street (they are one way streets parallel to each other). So I looked it up, and the National Express A6 service from Stansted Airport drops off/picks up close to Lincoln House if you buy the ticket destination London, Baker St / Glos Pl, George St

Zoom in on this map and you'll see little bus stop symbols. Map of Embassy & Medical I think you will get dropped off on Baker St and return to Stansted from Gloucester Pl, both near intersection with George St. So no need to negotiate the Tube. Mum can buy a half-price ticket.

National Express website http://www.nationalexpress.com/Airport/stansted.cfm Change the "from" to Stansted and "to" to London Baker St/ Gouc Pl.

(Woohoo, I'm so proud of myself with bus things. I had never ridden a bus, coach or train because we just don't have those. Now I "get" it I think. )

Hey folks, just to let you all know that I also got approved (FINALLY!!!!!) but it's pending as I have to send in a hand signed copy of the I-134. I tried to ask people in various forums about electronically signed forms but nobody answered so I can safely say now to everyone - Make sure you have hand signed documents. I also need to send in all 64 pages of my fiances tax return, not just the summary on page 1.

I would like to warn everyone that although they say you should expect to be there for 2 to 3 hours, I was actually waiting for 4 hours. Such a long and tiresome process all for a 5 minute, stress free chat where they say yes, you have a visa. Like everyone says on here already, do not panic about this interview process, I've had scarier moments watching Scooby Doo.

Looks like March has been good to everyone. Best of luck to everyone, this is where the journey starts I guess. I am freaking out. San Francisco here I come.

Am a bit broken. Haven't been able to stop crying since I left London. Approved, but put onto AP for an indefinite period, and the guy said it was an average of 6 months right now. Was given a blue form which basically says my application requires additional administrative processing and that there's no way of tracking how long it'll be. I just have to sit on my hands and wait for an email. I don't have the energy to do anything right now. I'm sorry guys, wish I could be happier about it but it's more or less shot my plans and hopes to pieces.

A very sad, broken Magpie.
