Hi H&V

Thanks for that. I read all the information and think I have a better grasp of what I need to do. I guess I'm panicking a bit and trying to do everything all at the same time. I should just slow down, take things a step at a time and do things properly!

Marm's post put the whole "date of interview" thing into perspective for me. I'm not so worried about the date of interview now ... I'm just looking forward to being able to relax while I'm waiting for the date to arrive!!

Thanks again ... you're a star ... :star:

No worries, just wanted to say the advice I gave is mainly based on I have picked up from the great people on here, so thanks to all of them too! It's nice to be able to start helping back when I can.

I really hope some of you guys are still around when I'm doing AOS! (fingers crossed!)

And congrats Obbynox!

Hi Folks

Probably another silly question, but I'm in panic mode again ....

I'm filling in the form for the police check and it offers extra copies for five quid. Do I NEED to get those copies or am I allowed to photocopy the actual certificate?

Thanks in anticipation ....

Nick got an extra one. Once in the US, alot of job applications want your driver's license number (and consent) to do a background check. You of course won't have a DL right away. Since you're a new immigrant, it's a nice touch to be able to say you have a criminal background check from your home country that you can provide to them.

Just an idea for having an extra official copy with the hologram on it.

Hi Nich ... That sounds like a great idea ...

The copy I need to take to my interview with me ... does that need to be a fancy one or can I just Xerox it?

Moira,

You need to take one of the official ones you order from ACPO and you also need to xerox it and take the copy as well. So that means: 1 original police certificate+ 1 copy of police certificate

one original, one copy. got it. i will add that to my checklist.

and, if anyone has an expertise, i posted a frantic question or two about the I-134 in that thread as well. any help at all would be... helpful as im sort of getting worked up. (even though im trying to stay calm.)

:) Moira, trust me, once you get it off in the post, you will be fine!

You have all documents in order

The DS-157 does not have a place to be signed so no signatures on that one!

Everything else is perfect!

i am the USC, but my lovely boyf sent the following:

DS-230 part I [sending part I only]

DS-156 with color photo attached, in duplicate

DS-156k in duplicate

DS-157 in duplicate

checklist and IV-15 completed

i believe that the DS-157 doesnt have a place to sign. so you sound like you are all set.

and we sent photos with the DS-156, but vj wisdom seems to say that they are not required at this point.

and ive calmed down a bit, thanks to a very kind response to my questions by elmcitymaven (<3). im okay with getting a little worked up, but not a lot. i had a some really bad moments while i was preparing the I-129F and i dont want to waste any time or energy on excessive worrying for this part. difficult because i have a lot of general anxiety but, i have to say im kicking #### (seriously, you cant say ####? i didnt read ALL of the ToS but you can even say #### on american tv!) lately. yay for me. : )

glad youre posting 'packet 3' tomorrow. feels good. we sent ours LAST monday (16 march) and they had received it and put it in the system by friday (20 march). (i called the DOS to check the status). i will call again on friday (27 march) and see if the DOS shows an interview date on file (which they probably wont).

good luck and keep us posted!
