I right click my mouse and copy image location I then click the insert image link and paste.

Hmmm ... I don't have those options when I right click ....

Nevermind, I'm sure I'll get it worked out - solving the puzzle will give me something to do with my time while I wait for packet three!!

Thanks again ...

Good Morning All ....

A quick question - but one of those that will have me worrying all day!!

In the instructions, it says that I need to have a letter from Steve's employer, from his bank and also notarized copies of his latest federal income tax return.

Steve should have his latest taxes done and dusted in a week or so and I'm hoping to have those for the interview - do they still need to be notarized? Or am I getting confused with the I-134, which doesn't NEED to be notarized now?

Also, can I send the checklist back without actually having the documents I need from him in my hands in the UK? I was hoping to send the checklist back .... and then have the docs here for the interview - which looks as if it may be some weeks away yet ... :(

All advice appreciated!!

Moira x

PS ... I wish they had an emoticon of a worried little face biting their finger nails!!

Taxes don't have to be notarized. If you are very confident that you will have the documents soon then you can send off the checklist. The tax returns can be copies so that can always be scanned and e-mailed at the last minute so he doesn't have to wait on that being completed to send you the other items.

Thank you very much Talyss!! I think I will ask Steve to send me over the docs that he has already and find out if he can get access to a scanner for sending over the tax info when he gets it. Does anyone know of any stores that might offer a scanning service? He has a USB flash drive so could put them on that and then email the tax docs to me ...

Brilliant idea ... now why didn't I think of that .... :bonk:

quick question when you send it packet 3 do you just send it the iv-15 checklist stating you have everything or do you have to send that in along with the ds-156 and the other ones.

for packet 3 send back

IV-15

DS-230 part1 signed

DS-156 unsigned (2 copies)

DS-156k (2 copies)

DS-157 (2 copies)

Does he have to send both copies or just one copy and take the other one to his interview.

I would put today's date on to be honest. At least I did on ours. Not that they looked at it.

current date, i agree. its an updated letter of intent, to show that you both still intend. : )

and, although here we are all beyond this point, i would suggest to anyone starting this process, if you have the means, to buy and printer/scanner/copier. it has been an indispensible tool for both the I-129F and now for the interview portion of the process. it was less than $100 and it has saved me a lot of time and stress. it has also contributed greatly to my organization and my feeling of being in control of/on top of things. i have all documents scanned and uploaded to cyberspace. jamie has immediate access to anything that can be submitted in non-original form and i have copies of EVERYTHING so that when anything goes missing, we have it documented. makes me feel more secure.

all three functions have been very useful.

just a tip for anyone who is reading this thread and in the beginning of the immigration process.

...buy and printer/scanner/copier...

I agree 150%...excellent advice!

Today I sent a flat rate (4 lb limit) priority mail envelope to my dear fiance. $12.95 total including taxes. It is a great rate, 6-10 days delivery time...the only problem is that even though 4 lbs is a lot of allotted weight, the envelope itself is not as sturdy as you would think it would be...I had to leave out cell phone bill records and email correspondence records so that everything fit...and everything fit up to the brim...I only used 1 lb 6 oz of the allowed 4 lbs...but it was stuffed! And there was no way I could add the cell phone and email records without the envelope tearing. So this is what I sent to him (FINALLY! I was waiting for the interview date to send him the doc...):

I-134 mine: technically zero income since I am a F/T student so I included: Letter from my college, and an explanation letter notarized from me explaining that I have a job lined up, etc. No tax returns or W-2s...since it would not help at all for me to include them...

I-134 co-sponsor: 2008 tax return, 2008 W-2s, evidence of US Citizenship, letter from employer..did not include bank statements because income level does not need any other supporting financial assets.

My divorce decree (certified, embossed) even though we included it with the I-129F, I thought what if they ask my fiance for it at the interview...so I added that to the package (It is a 13 page divorce decree)

Updated, notarized letter of intent to marry my fiance from me + 1 copy of this letter

40 captioned pictures of us together on our trips to each other and to Pakistan

Original Boarding passes, air ticket receipts, itineraries, hotel receipts, baggage claim receipts, etc from our trips to see each other and to Pakistan

---And thats it!---

Hopefully he will never need the email correspondence or the cell phone records...but if ever needed, I have them!

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

:D Well, thank goodness for campus printing -- that's all I can say. It costs a small fee every time I print, but it saves me buying one for myself.

Also, guys, here's a list of what I've got for my interview:

1) Interview cover letter

2) Photographs

3) Passport and additional photo ID

4) Birth certificate

5) Police letter explaining why I can't get my birth certificate

6) Emails between myself/embassy/Deputy High Commission regarding birth certificate

7) Birth certificate log with list of contacts, numbers, addresses, dates and instructions/advice given

8) Police certificate

9) Affidavit of support/evidence

10) Updated letters of intent to marry

11) Additional evidence -- letters, train tickets, etc. -- and internship reference letter + university letter confirming my attendance. Also included application form for the £121 birth certificate process which isn't guaranteed -_-.

12) Payment, which I'll be taking out from the bank on Friday.

What I'm also adding is, after contacting the police officer who's been helping me out, a letter from the police confirming my parents' names, where I was born and when I was born.

Think that covers it, guys? Do let me know!

Magpie.
