Hi everyone, I've just joined visa journey after following it over the last few months! I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what I can be doing while waiting for my NOA2? Is it worth getting the police check done now, or closer to the interview? And also, is there just the one centre in the UK that I can get the medical done at? It seems ridiculous that I have to go to London for the medical and the interview! Thanks, its very comforting knowing that there are other people out there in the same situation as Trev and I :)

Hi, you can get more info here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide and also see what happens between NOA2 and the interview here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=177012

Oops, missed your post! Just elaborating on Laura's suggestions there...the police certificate is good for twelve months, but I'd suggest waiting for your NOA2. Sadly, I believe Knightsbridge Doctors is the only place where you can get your medical done. Some peeps just stay in London for a few days and get their medical done closer to their interview, and then go for their interview -- it takes about four or five days to get the results to the Embassy.

Hope that helps :D. When did you file for your visa?

yeah thats it just a letter with the interview details and IV-19 which is just a map of how to get there and what you are allowed to take into the embassy

If you want a copy pm me and I will scan and send it to you, nothing earth shattering

We got our NOA1 on 16 January, so we still have a bit of a wait, I'm just trying to do as much as possible while I wat otherwise I might go crazy! Thank you for all your advice though. I have another quick question, if I get an RFE, does that set us back even further, or is it just a few weeks? Thanks!! x

Hi There

We had an RFE early on in the process. I made a mistake when filling in the form in regards to my children. I didn't realise that if they were married or over 21 that they didn't need to go on the list!! :bonk: We had to send off an amended form and Steve also put a covering letter saying that my kids were both married adults and had no intention of coming to the USA with me.

It delayed us about ten days ... which in the grand scale of things isn't too much of a delay. Other issues may have longer timescales, but hopefully you will be one of the hundreds of couples that sail through the process without any RFE's!!

Hi guys, had my interview March 12th - I won't post the review here because it's a few paragraphs short of an epic novel but there's a VJ link in my sig - long story short, we had some evidence missing, which my better half is sending on a $50 service to get it here in Enger-land for monday. In theory, I send that via SMS courier, wait some days, and then we get our Visa. So I'm happy! But it aint over till the fat lady sings...

Good luck to everyone with interviews this month! It's not as bad as you think it will be! B)

Sep/Oct 2006 - We met online randomly, courtesy of Google and Myspace! Became best friends very quickly!

May 2007 - I booked tickets to go see Lauren in AL in November '07

June 2007 - Decided to date online

September 2007 - Fell in love!

November 2007 - I flew to Alabama to meet Lauren for the first time. We spent a PERFECT week together!

April 2008 - Lauren came to stay with me in England for a week!

May 5th 2008 - Mailed our K-1 application

July 31st 2008 - FINALLY received NOA1 (letter)

November 20th 2008 - Visited Lauren in AL for her birthday =D

January 21st 2009 - Received our NOA2 (letter)

February 6th 2009 - Received Packet 3

February 9th 2009 - Sent off Packet 3

February 20th 2009 - Medical

March 5th 2009 - Received Packet 4

Well, karenandtrev, I sincerely hope you won't get the RFE at all. There is a slight difference (surprise, surprise) between how CSC and VSC process RFE and recently the VSC's record in dealing with RFEs has not been the greatest. If you are lucky, you are looking at around 2 weeks but most of us with RFE have been waiting well over 3 weeks. I'm on my 34th day today with no hope of an approval soon. I'm sure that in the grand scheme of things that is a minute wait but right now, it feels like a century. So I really hope you'll be able to avoid it.

Good luck.
