Does anyone have any info on what you HAVE to take to the interview? I'm looking in the wrong places, it seems, as I can't find an official list of anything, but hear a lot of people talking about proof of marriage, that sort of thing. Am approved at NVC awaiting interview date, so want to be prepared!

01/05/09 - we receive AOS Bill and DS-3032

02/12/09 - medical 04th Mar 2009 - NVC Complete - 314 days

04/28/09 - interview passed - 370 days

06/20/09 - visa arrived by courier

06/21/09 - POE Dallas Fort-Worth - 398 days to gain permanent residence (CR-1)

02/22/11 - Sent I-765 to Vermont Service Center

03/03/11 - Received receipt for I-765

I am not going to go through everything but here is what I took and what was actually looked at

Interveiw appointment letter and passport - looked at on arrival

This is the order that the forms were asked for

Birth Certificate and a copy, I do not have one and gave an adoption certificate and copy which did cause some problems but was resolved at the interview when he went to see his supervisor 3 times

Police Report and copy

I -134

2008 W2 I did not have a 1040 to go with that but it is not a problem as they dont have to be filed till 15th April

1040 tax return for 2007 which they took

Copies of Pay Slips

Employer letter

House valuation

401K statement

Statement of savings

This is what I also had that I handed over and they gave back and said was not required

W2 2205/6/7

Tayless had told me that they asked her to fill in a 157 as at the time that we applied this was not on the check list, so I prepared one but was not asked for it

Updated letters of Intent from both of us, I was not asked for them, I think it is because out NOA2 had not expired if it had expired they probably would have wanted them and for Toodds to be notarized

This is the list of everything else I took and was not asked to shoe

Receipt from th Medical

Copy of the original petiton

Copies of E-mails

Photos

Phone records

boarding cards

Personal and engagement cards

These were the questions I was asked

How did you meet

When was the first time you met in person

What does the USC do for a job

Can you tell me what the job intails

Have you met any of his family

Where do his family live

from start to finish 2 hours but that was mostly waiting

Will add a full review to my time line but thought I would just give a rundown of the paperwork

p.s they charge £0.80 for a diet coke there hahahah

1040 tax return 2006

YAY SHAZ! That's amazing news :D :D :D congrats! Spreadin' the good luck arooound...

And Paul, just to reiterate a post I made previously:

Passport

Birth Certificate (Original)

Police Certificate

Colour Photographs (x2)

Evidence of Support (I-134 + tax returns/employment stubs)

Payment

If necessary, bring:

Adoption Certificate

Deed poll/proof of change of name

Marriage, divorce, death certificates

Court record

Military record

Certified translations

You don't have to notorize these documents, but you can if you want.

This is all taken from the Packet 3. There is nothing about an NOA1 and nobody who has been approved previously has taken it to the interview. You can take additional evidence such as photographs or letters, but from what others have experienced (I have yet to have my interview), it's not necessary. I will be taking mine with me.

It's more or less a repeat of what the lovely Shaz already mentioned :D.

Magpie.

No I dont think that they asked anything to catch me out it is things I should know, but as I was answering he was typing on the computer so might be checking the answers I gave to what they have on record or what we put in our initial petition but that is only me guessing

Pay stubs, well I had a months worth for December as that was when the initial I134 was notarized but as I went to the interview with verstion 3 and that was dated Feb I had an additional months worth so I took them all and handed them over all stapled together.

I know that I stated that I did not show any of the additional evidence of ongoing relationship but you still have to have them

Also regarding W2's and Tax returns they only took the latest ones and not all of them, this is becuase Todd is employed if you are self employed they will want 3 years worth and if after 15th April they will require a tax return for 2008

Hope that answers your questions

Well I am just about to open a bottle of Champagne should be nicely chilled now

I must say this last week before the interview has been the most stressfull in the entire process,

As long as you have all your papers that are required it is so easy, you would be in and out in under 15 mins if it was not for the waiting, they were really nice to me and they told me on one of the forms that I sent in for packet 3 I left one of the digits off the passport number, he just told me to write it in and initial it, so they want to help otherwise I would have got an RFE for packet 3.

I should slap myself for how much stressing I have done the last week, now looking back after having the interview, as many have said before me it is a bit of an anti climax, to sum it up like a trip to the post office hahahahahahahah
