Your situation may be different, but they told us we'd have to wait 4-6 weeks and we had the interview date within 3 days. This was after we knew they'd received packet 3, but it may not be as long as you're anticipating!

Blimey! You mean the date was 3 days after you got packet 4? Or you heard within 3 days?! I seem to be at the very end of most expected timelines - in fact, packet 3 still hasn't arrived :D Clearly it's overrated ;)

I'll try giving the DOS a bell :D

Cheers!

Sorry for the confusion! When we sent our packet 3 in, we called for the first two days and they said "4-6 weeks" but on the third day later, we got news of our interview date. The interview date was less than 2 weeks away from the date we called. My timeline should sort of reflect that. haha. I hope your process speeds up! Either way, you're in the final stretch :).

Any interviews scheduled for April yet?

We are hoping for a date within the first two weeks of April, we put down leave date for April 17 so we are assuming that we will get a date around that time.

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

Wow, that's super quick. We called the DOS 2 days ago and the interview was still to be scheduled. Maybe we'll call them again today and keep hassling them :D

=D That worked for me. I just kept calling every week for about three weeks and then they gave me my interview date (but I had requested a later one in a letter).

Ok so our plans may have fallen in a heap.

My Passport and docs got picked up Tuesday but only made it to the Embassy today!!!!! I called Secure Courier and they said 'Well you don't live in London what did you expect?' If I had of known that I would of taken it to London myself!!!!! :girlwerewolf2xn:

The USE said give it 5 days once I sent it off, but I don't know how that will be possible now. And to top it off we did the big no-no and booked a ticket before we had the visa :crying:

Does anyone know if you can pick it up yourself?

I had my interview on Tuesday in London and thought that I would just let you guys know of a couple of things that I didnt think of

#1 - I took all of my evidence of an ongoing relationship which included cards my SO had sent me, two of these were musical ones, never gave it a thought that when they say dont take anything ELECTRONIC that there is an electronic thingie in the cards. They showed up on the x-ray machine and I wasnt allowed to progress into the building with the cards, so ended up binning them. So if any of your proof contains lovely little musical gadgets I suggest you leave them at home :D

#2 - For those with children, the visa fee applies to each of them as well. If, like I did, you forget to take enough cash to cover you and your children they will allow you to go out of the embassy to the bank and return to pay. Be aware that they hold onto your file though while you do this so it falls further and further behind in the queue, although if you dont have to be any where thats not really much of a problem either.

Good luck to you all :D and just to let you know ..... I GOT IT :dance::dance:

Grats, Teko!

And Dairyfarmer, have you tried calling the embassy and asking if you can pick it up? :( It would really suck for your plans to be messed up, especially with non-refundable tickets...
