The 2009 United Kingdom Interview Thread!

Interview is in 3 days and I'm getting so nervous!! I head to London tomorrow night!

Its natural to be nervous but if you have all paperwork in order you really will be just fine. Had my interview last thursday and it was all good, visa arrived by courier this morning flight booked for POE at Newark on Friday. The waiting is almost over!!

Just in case anyone has this question in the future, I thought I'd share.

My husband will likely be out of town when the visa is delivered so I emailed the SMS courier folks about it.

They say that someone else can accept the delivery, as long as they can present an i.d. belonging to the passport holder. When asked what would be an acceptable form of identification they replied, "I can confirm that we can accept as ID either a full UK valid driving licence, Passport or a valid credit / debit card. Alternatively we can also arrange a delivery for after your husband has returned."

Drop me a Private message and let me know if your other half wants to meet up before going in ? perhaps some company if you wont be there yourself will make things easier. ? (killing time etc)

I'm planning on being at the embassy for 7:30 (I am almost resigned to the fact I wont get much if any sleep the night before so might take a slow drive down to the outskirts of the underground off the M40 and take a leisurely trip in.

If you don't want to then that's cool too. Id rather make the offer than not

Congratz to all new approvals and hugs and well wishes to those still waiting. I'm more of a lurker these days as work just won't let up and the rest of my pc time is spent playing FarmTown these days...good GRIEF I've created a monster in myself with that stupid game.

Anyway..the tickets have been purchased for a POE to San Fran and then on up here to Chico for 8-26. 42 days.

Did any of you buy the round trip instead of the one way due to price. He did and I hope that won't be a problem......

Wow you waited a long time before POE!!! Dont worry I got a round (return) trip with no problems. It was just cheaper to get that ticket at the time as it was onsale with Expedia!

I will be more than glad to put your date on the list, celtic59, but I am confused on what you are interviewing for? K-1/K-3/CR-1/DCF? You don't have a timeline in your profile and your status saying AOS (Pending) so if you mean your date July 24th is your AOS interview date, then please refer to the UK 2009 AOS thread here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=189022. Otherwise, please post what type of visa you are interviewing for at the US Embassy in London and your date will be in this list for sure!

Due to circumstances beyond my control...no wait scratch that

I am beginning my clinical rotations for psychiatry by August 1st so I will not be able to update the interview list or keep track of approvals/changes/etc.... so unfortunately I will no longer be "in charge" of the Interview List as of Saturday August 1st, 2009.

It would be great if someone could come along and take over the responsibility...mind you its not written in stone that you HAVE to be punctual about it, but just someone who acts as a reference for the interview list would be nice...

Anyone can make updates or add changes or interview dates by doing the following:

Just follow the format on the interview list that is already set: By clicking "reply" on the post with the most recently updated interview list, you can delete the words: [qoute] from the beginning of the post and [/qoute] from the end of the post to make it a new post. And then follow the template to either:

Add interview dates: Just type in the interview date in the format shown and high-light the entire entry and click on the blue color in the color options menu tab.

Add the shiny red approval star: On the bottom of the interview list is the "Legend" which tells you that the red star=APPROVED. Just copy the entire link for the red star and paste it next to the name of the interviewee who has recently been approved.

Everything else is pretty much self explanatory in terms of typing in new information/deleting information/changing colors.

I hope this helps anyone who is interested in taking over the "Interview List" or just as a reference to anyone who would like to enter/delete/add changes or dates.

Feel free to decide what to do about this issue, of course!

ETA: I will be updating the list until July 31st. August 1st is when I won't be available.

FINALLY got our interview date! It's a very strange and heart-warming story actually - I have no idea if any of you want to read this but here goes anyway

So my 17 year old cousin was killed in a car accident 6 weeks ago in Canada, we're all understandably devestated and it has made me question whether or not I'd like to leave this country and all my family behind - knowing how it felt to not be able to be there for my family in Canada.

Well yesterday while I was at work, a robin flew down on to a sign near me and sat and watched me for a good 10 minutes - and this robin had a very strange orangey coloured breast. Now 3 things crossed my mind, this robin was out in the middle of July, it didn't have a red breast, and Josh (my cousin) loved the colour orange. So I thought all of this was very strange, and whenever I came outside again this robin flew back. This morning when I checked the post, after all the months of delay, I had a letter from the US embassy - and my interview date falls on Josh's 18th birthday, August 20th 2009!

Very nice to know he's still around watching over us. Well add us to the interview list at last, The Sam's - August 20th!
