Congrats Jenn and Nick! I'm so pleased that you guys have an interview date!

John and I are all ready for tomorrow morning, although we're full of butterflies. I am so grateful for VJ and the network of information and support here. I can't imagine how insane we'd be if it weren't for all of you and your willingness to share your experiences. Scary!!! I've double and triple checked everything, I think everything is in order I would prepare everything this weekend, but its my hen party!! It has been planned for months, and of course my interview is scheduled for the day after!! Hopefully im not too sleepy in my interview! I just want it to be this time next week so I can start actually getting excited for getting married, and not constantly having scary moments where Im sure there is some document or picture missing from my visa things!! I'm sure you all know how I feel, I can't wait till its all over and I'm finally with Trev permanently after 3 years xo

Pages like this give me hope. Congrats to all who have gotten their passports back. I really can't think how it must feel. I hope it is soon.

I know this is a page for happy posts but here goes - after a long and twisted road, I finally had my interview on the 11th unfortunately, I had been misinformed on 2 matters.

Firstly, it turns out that even though u r ask to list assets on AOS it actually doesn't count and it doesn't matter wether the NVC pass you or not. My husband went back to study for a Masters in 08 and didn't want to accept financial aid so is not as high on liquidity but has assets. This was not acceptable at my interview.

Secondly, even though I have lived in London for nearly 10 years and since I was 16, I was still required to get a police cert from Nigeria, which was fine. The lady told me it was alright to post certified prints to a relative in Nigeria and I did that. However, it turns out the embassy only accept prints certified by New Scotland Yard.

So they asked me to go and get another i864 and my correct PC. He also told me that they are currently experiencing a 3 day turnaround and that someone in my exact situation has done the whole thing in 2 weeks. He told me he thinks they can still get me out of the country by the end of the month which was the condition of me starting a new job I got. I set out to aim for that and got my file and passports back to the embassy this Monday.

Does anyone know when I can expect it back? Oh please has anyone had a similar experience? I am so tired of being apart from hubby and want to start my life.

Things are frantic at my end. I leave Friday

It's taken me until yesterday to get into gear. I am finished work and I have packed everything, collected by courier this morning at the ungodly hour of 6.45am. I very very stupidly packed by birth cert with all the stuff being freighted so won't have it for weeks and weeks (I know, I know... ). I will need it for AOS so i'm gonna have to do something about that.

Anyway, best of luck to everyone ...and I hope to see you all on the other side

That's for the visa waiver program isn't it? You're traveling on a visa.
