I really don't know...the girl on the other end just told me to ask about it again in a couple of weeks. It's because I want to have my medical a week before my interview (March 30th), but do you think I should have it done sooner? Maybe February...

How long is the medical examination valid for? Just want to clarify.

For AOS purposes it's valid for a year.

You should be able to book the medical without even giving an interview date, thats what Hannah and I did.

And as said above its valid for 12 months, so make sure you file AOS during that time period. Or else its another medical for you.

=D Congrats!

In terms of the medical thing, I'll probably try have it done in February instead then. Knight was worried about me going to it a week before, so it'll probably set him at ease if I take it sooner rather than a week before the interview.

What's AOS again...? All these terms have a tendency to go over my head two minutes after I find out what they are. I'm guessing it's "approval of" something or other.

Magpie.

/edit: Approval of...spouse? Wait. I'm a fiance, so I can't be a spouse. Oh, boo.

Ajustment of Status. That means adjust your K1 status to legal permanent resident. Also called the green card. As soon as you marry, you get to file more packets, pay $1010, and start checking USCIS for updates again. :) Well you don't have to do it immediately, but we did just to get the work authorization and travel docs asap. Mags, did you know you can't leave the US until you file AOS EAD and AP and get travel docs and you can't work immediately either?? You thought the hard part was over. There's more.....

Don't even think about that part yet, except do not lose the I-94 that they give you back at POE. It's a smallish card thing. Just get to the US to be with your honey. That's the big thing.

Thank you Nich =D my guardian angel, as always. I actually posted on the UK forum about how you guys found it to adjust, because I want to be as prepared as possible =P. I'm going to look into booking my medical for February instead then.

I did know I wouldn't be able to leave the US until my AOS and so on are filed, but I'm not too concerned about that.

Hugs!
