Thanks everyone!! Yes seems like a great month for interviews! i hope not to break the streak! :star:

Yes Bob n Pat, will get them used to saying yes! haha. U two will do great i know it!

I have a new respect for everyone who has been through this, I didnt imagine how nervous I would be. (and i'm not interviewing even, paul is). I havent been this nervous since i went bungee jumping!! no joke, this process is as nerve wracking as jumping off a 10 story bridge with a pile of pointy rocks below!!

Good luck for tomorrow!!!!!! .........

I think i'd take the bungee cord rather than do this process ever ever again :)

Ain't that the truth. It kinda brings to mind two things I've recently heard. First off, Dad tells me 'You really must love her to be going through all this'. And second from Pat herself, 'You know I wouldn't do this for just anybody'.

I really have to hand it to each and every one of us out here. You've all been great and I can't think of another loose group of tightly knit friends that I'd rather make this journey with.

Cheers,

Bob

Hi all! I haven't posted in this thread before, but John and I are awaiting an interview date from the embassy, and I found this while poking around on the embassy site tonight:

http://www.usembassy.org.uk/visaservices/?p=527

Looks like that might explain why there have been a few long waits for Packet 4 as of late.

US Entry: 06-27-2009

Well that's really interesting! Jon was refused entry last June and we sent the papers CBP gave him with packet 3, so they had everything they needed for this extra screening...maybe that's what took so long! If we had known that we might not have had our Senator give the embassy a little nudge and might not have an interview yet...hmmmm.

Good find, John and Mary!

:D Sorry I've been so scarce, all. Had a trip to Thorpe Park Wednesday, followed by harassing swans at Windsor (they're big and intimidating but now I've learned how to shoo them back into the river and push them in with my leg when they get too greedy for food!), and then catching up with some other friends yesterday and a loooong bike ride (which my legs are paying for now). I'm moving out of my halls today and into a friend's, so I won't have proper internet access until...well, I'm on the other side. :: Flaps about like a prepubescent ::

Congratulations to recent approvals :D! Hugs! And good luck to interviewees for next week, you'll do awesomely.

Magpie.

PB&JAM, I totally agree with you, I could not sleep one wink the night before and the day of my fiance's interview. My head was constantly racing with thoughts (not to mention pulse and heart rate shooting sky-high) and then when my fiance called with the good news, it was like I finally landed on a pile of hay after catapulting in the air for so long

Can't wait to hear of your approval soon!!!

Bad news guys.

"your visa has been denied under section 212(a)(2)(a)(1) of the immigration act A waiver of the applicable is available."

I dont know what this means, my fiance told me: "I dont qualify for automatic approval its up to homeland security to approve me a waiver, only this time we both have to write letters explaining why a denial would cause extreme hardship, more forms to fill, $538 to pay, at least 15 weeks more to wait, "

We are eligible for a waiver but have to prove extreme hardship.

I am utterly heartbroken and crushed. He cannot even visit me til we get approved or denied. I am gutted! I dont know what to do! I cant be with the man i love?? I'm in tears...... Sorry to break the lucky may streak! :( :( :(

I am so sorry PB&Jam.

All I can suggest is posting in the waiver forums I am sure there are people with experience of going through this who will be able to to explain what it means.

Don't give up hope, people do get waivers.

Nevermind, looks like it's about past criminal convictions. How long ago was this? I'm very surprised to hear about a denial.. research the waiver ASAP.

thanks guys! talked about it more with paul, the CO just made it seem like we have a few papers to fill out n it has to be sent to DHS. he gave paul the forms we need to fill out, he's sending some for me to fill out too, plus we need letters of extreme hardship. we submit those n then Embasy will contact us with what to do with his passport.

i'll post over in waivers tomorw. havent been to bed n its after 5am. i'll need a bit of time to recover, and need sleep. nerve wracking day ended in me bawling my eyes out. i'll be ok. we'll get through this. thanks everyone! =)

sorry to be the bummer of the group! :(
