another q:

can one take a messenger bag/ laptop bag inside the embassy???

Yes you can, unless you've got a laptop or electronics in it (including an iPod/cellphone).

Guys, any responses about the processing...? I mean, I've been told I have clearance, so is this the normal 3-5 days of processing for visa issuance? Knight called DOS too and he said that's what he thinks the person said on the other end, but please please please, I have to be sure. I couldn't breathe when I got off the phone myself with DOS earlier, and was in tears until Knight calmed me down.

Magpie.

Upon the mountain of that which would undo us, our banner shall fly highest.

That's my understanding too. 3-5 working days on average. I did a timeline search not too long ago and it verified as well.

Hi guys, I know I haven't been in touch for a while...too busy packing and sorting things out before my departure and the wedding. But all this has now been postponed.

As some of you may remember, I had my interview on 29th April and was told to expect my passport back within 5 working days. well, 5 days have come and gone by and still no passport. DOS is saying it hasn't been printed yet!!!! #######!!!!

I was supposed to fly out today and the wedding was organisedd for this coming Tuesday. It seems that everybody will be there exept for the bride !!!! He flew back to Florida by himself today... it was heartbreaking waving goodbye to him... Absolutely gutted....

DOS is saying that it's at Embassy's discretion when they print the visas and they can take as long as they want and we just need to sit tight and wait. Honestly, I thought that getting NOA2 was hard but this - I have never expected or would have believed. My fiance will be calling his congressman first thing tomorrow morning to find what the hell is going on. But the boat has sailed - I shall still miss my own wedding...

Can't find words to explain how devastated I feel right now... as we haven't waited long enough to get our NOA2....

I'm off to cry some more...

I'm so so sorry this is happening to you. :( I don't think there's anything I can say that will it better, but I agree that calling them with your booked wedding date might speed things up. Please try to hold onto the fact that you WILL be flying out very shortly and you will be together and married.

Magpie, it sounds like it's regular visa processing, not more AP. Let us know the moment you get your sparkly visa. :)

Relieved to hear the news, MARM. Good luck to you and Moira for tomorrow. Everything will be fine!!

Magpie--

It left your place on Monday. Got to the Embassy on Wednesday because their truck broke down and they couldn't do it on Tuesday. Was in the mailroom and taken to Embassy on Thursday. Sorted and given to your guy on Friday. He was busy with interviews because Friday is a big day. Monday he had to leave early because his kid got sick. Tuesday he'll finish it and send it to visa print. Wednesday they print the visa. Courier takes it on Thursday and you get it on Friday. So there ya go. Nothing to worry about, sunshine girl.

Thank yoooooooou. The Mexican lady I spoke to really gave me a scare. I told her that I had been cleared by the embassy and that I had a letter saying so, and she said "weeell, you're still processing". I was thinking, what? But they requested my passport and they actually told me I'd been cleared. And this lady kept insisting, "well, you're still processing!" so I spazzed out and thanked her and hung up (I failed to remember that AP is where it's pending and not processing, from what I've heard). Knight then called DOS and they were nice enough to tell him it was a standard procedure after the visa's cleared. Whew! So I will now calm down and have cake today.

By the way, it was a bank holiday on Monday last week so I couldn't send my visa out until Tuesday. So :P they likely broke down Wednesday...

Hugs,

Magpie.

Hi everyone, sorry if this is slightly off topic, i just have a few questions to ask about the packet 3. Im trying to prepare all my stuff at the moment, and Im just wondering what sheets I do and don't sign? I know that I definitely don't sign the DS-156 (and duplicate), but what about the DS-156K? And with the DS-230, do I send in both part 1 and part 2, but only sign part 1? Sorry about all these annoying questions, I wish it was more clear for us! Thanks in advance, Karen x

I love cake! Glad you got my point that days could be taken up with various little hitches of getting from point A to B to C........

You'll find that in the Embassy info http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...&cty=London

Part 1 in the first two pages of the DS-230. You don't need p. 3-4 at all.

There ya go, Magpie.. nothing to worry about. Can't wait to see your post screaming about the visa.

About packet 3.. you should have an instruction sheet with it that says clearly DO NOT SIGN with one of the forms. Or, just see what Nich posted. :)

Itching to hear about these interviews today!
