Just got back & would like to say we are APPROVED!!!!:dance::dance::dance:

OMG! I was a nervous wreck waiting for my number to be called & I'm so glad I went at 7.30am for a 9am appointment. I was number 5002 and that took 1 hour & 15 mins to be called to the 1st window. I was only asked for Passport, 2 pics, Birth Cert, Police Cert, I-134 & 2008 tax return. Didn't even ask for the W2'a or 1099's.

Then I sat back down & waited 45 mins to be called for interview. Had the lovely, smiley American guy. He asked lots of questions but if you know your fiance well, it'll be fine. He said the docs were all in order & he was delighted to approve my visa! woo hoo!!

I'm so relieved & it defo wasn't an anti-climax for me! Though I so glad this part is over. Next step...POE Chicago! :star:

Congratz to all new Congrateez that I may have missed!!!!

Hey, can anyone give me some info on cheap reliable shipping companies/services to the US?

Well, I'm going to be using AllFreight...but they seem to advertise more for students than anything else (and I am a student so that works for me :P). I don't know if anybody else has used them, and I'm not shipping very much at all, but their number is 08081 789 650 and their website is www.allfreight.co.uk :D. Maybe you could get an idea for a quote or something while you're shopping around for shipping prices.

Hope that helps!

Magpie.

P.S. Courier service took my passport today! Eeeeeeeeee!

Hey, can anyone give me some info on cheap reliable shipping companies/services to the US?

This thread is rather useful -- even though it is a year old the companies listed are still in business and it gives you some background on others' experiences:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=128548

I used Excess Baggage (as have a lot of other people here in the UK sub-forum) and they were fantastic across the board. We shipped 20 boxes door-to-door from London to Connecticut and the service was impeccable, with not a single item broken in transit.

APPROVED!!

:dancing:

I waited FIVE HOURS and it was bloody awful (especially because I had just travelled for 4 and a half hours to get there). Everyone is right, the waiting is the worst part.

I was number 5019 (arrived at 8:40) so had a few hours to wait until I got to give in my documents (he only wanted the 134 and tax returns, after all of the worry and print-outs..).. he took my fingerprints and asked me some questions about our relationship at that window, so I thought that might be the interview. But I was told to go back and wait for some more. When it came to the interview, I got the nice American guy too; he was very friendly, and we just chatted about how Bill and I met, his employment situation, wedding plans.. when I plan on leaving. And then I asked if I was supposed to take my passport back and he said "Nah we're going to hold onto that so that we can put your visa in it. :) " and wished me luck in the U.S.

I was delighted.. tried to keep my cool though. ;)

I texted Bill with "bad news.." just so I could give him the bittersweet pleasure of being approved. I know it's mean, but it had to be done..

Congrats Monkeyjuice!!
