Hi All ...

I just phoned the DOS and my interview is on 12th May at 10am ... I am over the moon - I thought they had forgotten all about me ...

Can someone please post the telephone number that I need to call to book my medical? I don't have the paperwork with me at work and I don't finish until 10pm!! I want to get it booked asap in view of the holiday weekend.

Thanks everyone! MonkeyJuice, I only called the DOS to make sure that the information from the email had been transferred to my file ... and she said an interview had been scheduled!! So it did work!!

Thank you so much for the telephone number Bob - you are a life saver - I don't think I could have survived until Tuesday to get my medical sorted out ... :D

I couldn't get my medical on the Monday before my interview because it was such short notice, so the receptionist scheduled it for the Wednesday after. I didn't realise you could have your medical AFTER your visa interview, but she assured me that I could and that it was fine ...

So timetable is ... fly down to Luton early Monday morning .. spend the day sightseeing with my Mum. Interview on Tuesday 12th at 10am and medical on Wednesday 13th at 10.30am

I am sorted ... I am happy ...

Yep you can have the medical after the interview, but the visa won't be approved until they get the medical results. You could try calling the medical place every day or something and see if there is a cancellation for Monday...but even then the results still won't get there in time for the interview, so it may not be worth switching.

12/14/09: Green Card arrived in mail. Happy Days!

It's taken 18 months from applying for K1 to receipt of Green Card! Thank God it's over until 12/7/11

Hi everyone,

Well I'm kind of celebrating my visa has been approved!!! :dance: BUT they just want a letter from my fiance's parents verifying I am going to live with them!!! My case is slightly different as my fiance (the petitioner) has lived in the UK for the last 20 years and his parents have only just gone back to live in the states. The interviewer basically said they just want a letter from his parents verifying that I'm going to live there!! Seems stupid as my fiance's mum has done an I-134 stating this!! They were not interested at all in the proof of wedding or living together over here which is good!!! Anyway nearly there!! Courier coming on Wed to pick up letter and passport so hopefully not too long to wait. Will keep you posted.

Guys, I was going to go to Bristol today to get the US sized passport photos, but I saw that they only re-size, they don't take the picture and then re-size..

Is it true that Gould's Pharmacy do this? Or would it be too much of a risk to get there on the day and do it??

Snappy Snaps is in the mini shopping area on Whiteladies Road - you know near Cotham Hill / Clifton? I google-mapped it but the bus driver didn't stop when I pressed the bell and ended up taking me all the way to the station, so I had no idea where to go. The travel office was closed, so I called Bill to give me directions on the phone; an American giving me directions in Bristol!

Cost me £7 (good times) for two AWFUL looking passport photos (bad times). :( She kept telling me to move every inch of hair back so I look like A TURNIP!

Congrats on the visa news and appointments, guy and girl!!

Excellent! Thanks for that. I think I know a bus that can get me there and back to the Centre or Temple Meads. Turnipdom awaits me also....although I usually end up looking like a pale and interesting Melon head :D

Hahhahahahhaa, i once called dave to give me directions on alternative ways of getting out of Bristol when the M5 had a crash on it! The instructions given were....interesting to say the least :)

Congrats to everyone who has passed their interview / have been assigned dates.

There is a photo booth inside the embassy that charges 4 quid, just in case you do forget any photos.

12/16/08 - NOA2 by email - I-130 approved

12/20/08 - NOA2 in mail - 240 days

12/22/08 - NVC receive package

01/05/09 - we receive AOS Bill and DS-3032

02/12/09 - medical 04th Mar 2009 - NVC Complete - 314 days

04/28/09 - interview passed - 370 days

06/20/09 - visa arrived by courier

06/21/09 - POE Dallas Fort-Worth - 398 days to gain permanent residence (CR-1)

02/22/11 - Sent I-765 to Vermont Service Center

03/03/11 - Received receipt for I-765

04/04/11 - AOS interview and biometrics in Oklahoma City - took all of 20 minutes, no sweat
