OMG I just opened my gas bill. I have propane gas and a 500 gallon tank in the back yard. I have it on a scheduled budget payment. They average my usage and calculate my monthly bill. I had it filled last fall which cost me about $400. That lasted me all winter and a couple of months ago I went ahead and had it filled. I didn't think i should wait with the way gas prices are going. Well it just cost me $650. Now they want to raise my budget payment for $40 a month to $104. a month.

I just want to say a big freaking cuss word here.:lol:

Hey I'm a single mother (for the time being) trying to own my home and these people aren't making it any easier :angry:

Don't think you're alone. I'm also a single mom (again for the time being) and have bought my own trailer home (wow, trailer trash..truly this house is though I am not). I make 6.50 an hour and work every minute of overtime I can get. The problem comes when the power bill gets here. We use very little power. Very few lights. Replaced everything that had come in our home with "power efficient" utilities, yet the power bill comes routinely to 150-200 a month. Hard to make a living when you can't afford to live.

I'm here with ya (((hug)))

at least you were allowed to work it into your existing budget plan and not made to pay upfront!

it's a $64 dollar increase, break it down to the ridiculous: $16/week or $2.14/day ... surely you can work that in somewhere!!!

good luck!

Baileyj

you can't do a prepay? i do that in the summer in kansas, buy the propane at the summer rates, lock it in. last year was $1.25 a gallon. afraid to see what it is this winter but i have about 400 gallons left over still

Yeah it just kills me because last year they sent me a note in the middle of the summer saying based on my usage my payment was dropping to $15 a month. I called and argued with them about it and insisted on paying more than that. Now this. I don't know what kind of system they use but it seems to be screwed up. :D

Just cracked me up because they seem to go from one extreme to another.
