Who is knowledgeable about the travel requirements for a chinese national married to an American citizen transit through Hong Kong into China and back out?

I know that presently, a PRC citizen generally needs a visa to enter Hong Kong. How does it work if married? Does she need a visa from PRC to enter HK in the future or how does it work?

Hope I made myself clear!

thanks

Unfortunately being married to a US citizen does not change much in the way of travel requirements. Pretty much the same requirements she had before marriage apply afterward.

With a passport a PRC citizen needs no visa to enter or transit Hong Kong. Marriage to a US Citizen has not impact on this issue whatsoever.

Not sure if I made myself clear

every time we travelled to HK, she needed to get a visa (from PRC)to enter, which was only good for 7 days.

Now that she will be coming to the US, if she decides to return to china, transit through HK, will they let her in? Her termination point is HK and not china. Also, when she leaves China, will they stop her since her flight leaves from HK? Remember, she needs a visa to enter HK from China so how can she return to catch a HK flight? wont' they stop her since she doesn't have a (PRC)visa?

I'm I still confusing?

My Chinese wife says only a passport is needed for a citizen of The People's Republic of China to enter Hong Kong. Perhaps she's wrong but she and her daughter both traveled through Hong Kong in August of 2006 on Chinese passports and there is definitely no HK visa in either of their passports. Their only visas are K3 and K4.

thank you

I spoke with another person and this is what he told me.

the PRC citizen will be stopped by the Chinese customs not allowing her to enter HK without the HK visa.

As for HK, the PRC citizen will need only passport, american visa, and evidence of travel to another country, meaning that the person will use HK as a transit point(i.e. ticket, etc).

So the problem will be with the PRC customs, not allowing her to exit China without a HK visa.

If anyone knows something different, please let me know.

Thanks
