A long time ago we applied for our Fiancee Visa, here it is Christmas night, and still waiting, this past week we did have a Touch, on the 21st of December, but nothing as of now. 2 weeks I contacted a local Congressman, and he said he would get something done, haven't heard anything yet. Its just alittle over 8 months now, we have already did a Inquiry, but still nothing ,,, can any one give us some suggestions. I am heading back over to the Philippines in Feb for 2 weeks,,,, i need to see and be with my fiancee, even though we talk everynight on the phone for almost a hour its not like being with her. I ve ran out of things to do,,, all I am doing now is waiting,,, what else can I do????

You need to call and ask what is going on? sometimes you need to call and follow up not just wait.

You "may" have better luck with one of your senators. My congressman didn't squat but my senator "kicked butte". I called his office and the immigration specialist had things squared away in a couple days.

Unfortunately there are quite some people like us that wait way past the normal processing time.

I would as well suggest contacting a senator and then go from there. We have the same issue. We contacted our congressman almost two months ago and the response from USCIS to his inquiry was "still within normal processing time". However, we found out weeks later that after he followed up on our case we got assigned to an officer just one day later. I doubt that this is coincidence and thus advise you to just keep contacting congressmen and senators. Even if it feels nothing is moving, it might move things along.

Have you found out yet why you have to wait that long? Do you guys know whether you are in AP or something? For us, they just told us at an infopass appointment that nothing is wrong with our case (yet) and that we are simply not even looked at yet. We are assigned to an adjudicator since Nov 13, so let's see how long it takes from here.

Good luck!

I had the same response. I contacted my Congressman....nothing. Then I contacted my Senator and things got squared away. Good luck and keep the faith.

Good to know, tbouch!! We just contacted 2 senators last week as we think this is a reasonable waiting time to do so. One of them is on the committee that is supervising USCIS and we really hope that they can speed things up in January!!

A Senator's office is almost always more effective and responsive than a Congressman's. Of course, Illinois has only one Senator right now, but he's got a lot of clout. You've waited entirely too long and Sen. Durbin's staff should be able to dislodge your case after the holidays.
