Hello VJ!

I was just curious about your guys experience at Vancouver/YVR POE on a K1-Visa!

Especially leaving a day before New Year's Eve, I was wondering how early I should be at the airport.

I was going to get there 3 1/2 hours before my flight, Is that okay?

Just nervous going through customs :P

Thank you

Michelle & Nick

Patrick flew into YRV and we drove across the border into Blaine.

But check here for POE reviews of Vancouver.

I activated my K-1 visa at the Vancouver airport last year. When I got to Customs, I told them that I needed to activate a K-1 visa, and I was directed to the room for secondary processing. I was told to leave my baggage outside that room, but it was still in sight through the glass walls.

Other people were there ahead of me, but my name got called before some of theirs did. It took maybe 10-15 minutes for the officer to go through the papers, stamp and write things, consult with someone else, and hand me my stamped passport. Very easy.

You never know how long the wait will be, but 3 1/2 hours sounds like plenty of time.
