Continuing a K1 case from 2005

Okay, this is a long one, but any help would be very VERY VERY appreciated.

In 2005 my American boyfriend and I applied for the K1 visa making it through the petition part and being approved. So the case was forwarded to the UK embassy. During this time my boyfriend was experiencing personal problems and I decided to study in the UK and so we broke up and I returned the case to the embassy explaining the situation.

Now here I am 3 years later, and we have got in contact again, and I have spent the past month here enjoying time together, while tidying the house out, we came across the original approval letter, so out of curiosity I went to the UCIS website and enter the receipt number, to find that it was still there on the system and approved. After looking at all of this information and how well things have been going we decided we would like to carry on the process, and with any luck from where we left off, because the petitioning part is the WORSE thing ever.

So we call the UCIS and they tell me to call the NVC, so I call the NVC and they tell me that they cannot help me because it had already been forwarded to the US embassy in London. So I visit the website and look at the contact information, to discuss anything visa related I have to call a premium rate 09 number, which as I found out, you cannot reach from the US. So I do more hunting and I find the number that I have to ring to discuss your case from the USA, I gave all my details, paid the 16 dollar fee for the phone call with a credit card, once I had made payment, apparently she couldnt help me with THIS PARTICULAR VISA over the phone, and there is no way I can find out if the embassy still has the case they can send out to me or not from the USA. I can only get this information from the UK, now I am wondering a few things.

Is there any way I can get the UCIS or NVC to resend the case to the embassy, or is that not allowed?

Or who I could call to get some information, as if we have to do the petition part all over again, I would like to get started while we are here together because getting paperwork together is much easier when you are in the same country =P and frankly, I would much rather not have to do it again, its awful, I feel for everyone still going through it.

Any help on getting any information out of this would be great. Thank you, take care =)

I-129F petition approvals expire four months after approval date. Consular officers have the authority to extend the validity and routinely do when there's good reason to do so. In your case the Consulate would not have retained the file this long. If NVC doesn't have it, you could try contacting USCIS about it but I suspect you'll need a new petition and to start over.
