and if she refused to give you her password, what you will think ? i think that nothing should be private and secret beteween husband and wife, if he/she refuse that means there is no confidence beteween them, and you can not trust him/her right?

Sometimes the eagerness of one spouse to get this information may alarm the other and turn him/ her defensive. It's really not a big deal, let things come naturally, when he/she sees trust from your end, I'm sure things will unfold without stress

That's just nuts. Everyone needs their privacy and you should respect his.

Do you tell your husband everything your OB/GYN tells you to do? What kind

of tampons you use? Everything you talk about with your shrink? Your mother?

Your girlfriends' secrets? Seriously.

Hard to keep a "secret" while sharing a bathroom

There's a difference between privacy and "information my husband does not want to know" :P

Caro

I wouldn't consider it an unusual thing for a person to have an e-mail account to which the spouse doesn't have a password. Don't read too much into it. :)

hi everybody, i have a question and i hope to get different opinions, if you ask your husband/wife for her/his email password and he refuse to give it to you, what does it mean? can we say that the password is secret or it's private thing, i cant not understand why it will be secret and private beteween husband and wife? we share blood so what is a password? it's American culture or....? and the same question for number of the bank account? i'm waiting for your answers, thanks a lot and have a good day.

Just had this discussion with my husband this week. They are MY passwords. He has his own. I see no reason to give them to him for any reason. If he's nosy about something, he can ask. I'll tell him if I want to.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Could be that or because I said having the username Mister Fancypants might be a bit on the gay side.:lol:

Overlooking some aspects of the law here, with the USCIS, have to show evidence of mutual financial responsibility, like joint tax returns, can file separate, but open for both to see. If you end up in a divorce court, have to show every penny you have, if you don't, can end up in jail. You will be shocked what the IRS knows about you, have access to all your bank accounts, credit card statements, credit history, what property you own, ha, forgot once to include sales tax on an item I ordered out of state, got nailed for that, not only had to pay the sales tax, but a penalty as well.

There is no privacy living in this country, so kind of stupid to keep stuff from your spouse, if applying for a home mortgage, want a financial statement, and both spouses are responsible. If you can't trust your spouse in matters like a couple of bucks, really don't have much of a marriage in my opinion. With other forms of government, it's household income and assets they are interested in, again, if you lie, can find yourself in jail.

In an IRS tax audit, told them they know more about me than I know about myself, so why put me through that misery of filling out all those forms, just send me the bill! Only comment I have with my wife's e-mail is that a lot of her friends are bored and send her a bunch of ####### they find on the web with many containing virus's and worms. So I set up her e-mail account not to automatically download from the server, she can go to the server, peek at it, and delete it, once it's in her computer, I am screwed trying to find those worms.

we share passwords for most of the things we do online, but we both have our e-mail accounts and they're private. not sure about culture, but that's how it has always been between me and ex boyfriends, family, etc.

as for bank account number, if it's not your account, why do u need to know the number?
