I fail to see why someone would absolutely require their spouse's e-mail password. Do you believe he or she is cheating on you? If so, they'd probably delete any suspicious e-mails if you had access to their e-mail (and they knew it). A better option would be to create a "joint e-mail account" so the two of you had equal access to that particular account and could keep your own e-mail accounts private.

As for your spouse's bank account... well, the best option is (once again) to form a "joint account." It's actually recommended that spouses keep their own personal bank accounts. Unless it's an emergency, there's no reason to know your spouse's account number.

Ha, after I met my wife after only two months, sent her an e-mail entitled, I Trust you, she responded that she trusted me too. Been that way for close to seven years now. While we do share the same bed, not good for us to share the same computer, I have my work stuff on mine, and she has her stuff on hers, but do know all of her passwords as she knows mine. I keep her computer clean, and they do get messy.

PC use to stand for personal computer, now with XP, and especially with Vista, it has become a public computer, pain in the butt with all that extra ####### on it, got rid of most of it with XP, Vista is a challenge.

She left her country and a lot of things behind to come here and I wanted to share my life with her, and share we do, we make a good team. Couldn't do it at first due to that stupid American Patriot Act, banks wouldn't let us, but all that changed after she got her first green card and she is a USC now. We both had ex's that we couldn't trust, a hell of a way to live and that is the main reason why they are ex's. This time when we said, I Do, we had no doubts about each other, that is the way it should be.

and if she refused to give you her password, what you will think ? i think that nothing should be private and secret beteween husband and wife, if he/she refuse that means there is no confidence beteween them, and you can not trust him/her right?

hello,

I love my husband and he loves me, he gave me his passwords for his email adress, but i didn't gave him mine, and i ask him to close his eyes when i go to my emails. He isn't disturb by that (we married in april of this year).

Concerning his bank account, i'm not interested to have his password, the number of account (maybe in the future i will ask more questions) that he owns.

For my foreign account, it's true that i have my password here, i don't think that he checks (my bank web site is in french) and he doesn't speak french. And he is not interested by my foreign account neither by the amount of money that I have.

That doesn't disturb us, it's not a problem of trust, it's more for me a problem of curiosity or lack of curiosity.

Now i'm working, so i'm gear my wage, and he gears his. I know how much he gains (wage), and I show him my pay check.

If my husband asks I tell him, but he doesn't while he isn't here yet he does have my email passwords (why not i have nothing to hide?). I am not quite sure how we'll do the money thing yet because i am concerned about his ability or not to save and pay bills (never really had as many as we do in America) But if he asked me we would definatly have a conversation around the importance of budgeting (which we probably will anyway) and i'd give it to him. But that is me, share your life means that

I would never give him my passwords, I wouldn't expect his, and I know he would never ask me for mine either. I just don't understand that. Of course there's nothing to hide, but there's just a level of privacy. I respect his and he respects mine.

As far as some shared account stuff, yeah we share the passwords - photobucket, our gmail account that's both of ours, and I"m sure one day the bank accounts and things like that. But personal correspondence, we both respect that.

Heh, I forgot that gmail archives google talk chats, which I occasionally use and one day he commented on a chat I had with a friend and I said "WHAT?!!!? you're reading my chats...#######!!?" then he was like "OMG I'm sorry, but it was in our gmail account!" and was he was deeply hurt after I yelled at him.... :innocent:

I know all his passwords and he knows mine. It kinda came in naturally when we were still dating. He trusted me to handle all financial data and so I needed to have access to different emails sometimes. But I never ever looked their out of curiousity or being suspicious.

My wife knows my password, bank account number, etc...She knows the whole nine-yards. So do I. We can make financial decisions mutually. When I spend money for whatever day, I volunteered that information to my wife so does she in return when she spends it.

We never had a problem. We know that we are together in life, so, everything must be open between the two of us.
