June 23, 2010 - APPROVED WITHOUT INTERVIEW!!!

I am just curious ... as I have not experienced it yet ... I will in April. But what is the difference in taste between lechon in the phils compared to in the US? Is it mostly because of the way it is cooked? More flavors being cooked over flames ( smoked ) rather than the way it is cooked here in the states?

it could be too expensive to buy a whole pig here just to satisfy my craving..so I'm thinking to make a Pan Roasted Pork instead (lechon kawali) on my day off and buy a Mama Sita's lechon sauce in filipino store. :yes:

My sister in maine told me that she do lechon in her oven I don't know how she did it thought. Just few pounds i guess and She said that taste like lechon in Pinas. Not tried it yet hubby is scared of fats!!!.. Anyway, Mardy congrats of your being on the way .!!

We had prime rib at my daughter's house yesterday and I had a huge chunk of fat that my wife wanted. She said it reminded her of our engagement party and the two lechon we had. Ugh, I am not fond of fat :blink:
