My fiancee was denied her visa at Guanzhou August 25, 2008, so it has been four months. I hope to get a clarification on why she was denied when the paperwork gets here, which I hope will be soon. The form letter states they feel our relationship is not "bona fide." I have been to China 3 times for a total of six weeks, we had 400 pages of chat messages between us over a year, hundreds of pictures of the two of us all over China, copies of my passport entries, copies of plane tickets with both our names on them but this was apparently not enough. The question is roughly how long can an appeal take? The only thing I can think of to include in an appeal is affidavits from people that know us both and know the situation.

The denial notice will be coming from USCIS, moving this to USCIS forum.

You may want to post this question on "A Candle for Love" http://candleforlove.com Several members there dealt with this too.

chilton747 dealt with a similar situation.

Have you had your senator check and see the exact reasons the embassy determined you didn't have a "bona fide" relationship?

If not I'd do so ASAP. You have to try and resolve the denial while the petition is still at the embassy.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

My two Senators and one congressman were worthless. Just went through the motions and got the same form letter I did. The paperwork left Guangzhou 11 days ago.
