congrats on your up coming wedding!!

Seeing the recent trend on VJ you would be better off filing a stand alone I 130....( refrain from filing I 129F).

VSC seems to be approving and processing stand alone I130 much quicker.

congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

My only tips I can tell you is that, when your soon to be spouse sends you his G325a, tell him too to fill out the DS-230 form, just signed it but don't date it yet, also with the choice of agent. (ds-3032) just signed but don't date. And have multiple copies of the docs that he will be sending to you.

In this case, he only has to send once all the forms you will be needing in the future. Though you can do the choice of agent online, still you have back-ups.

Also, if he has some evidences for your bonafide marriage, send it with the forms too, (e.g. lease of a house, bank certificate of joint account, if any, and others.) this will save you a lot of time, esp when you reach NVC.

And when filling out forms, be careful.. review review and review.

make a exact replica of what you will be sending to USCIS, It will give you a stable comfortability that you didn't missed anything to avoid RFE.

Goodluck!!!

We got married in December but we're still waiting for our marriage certificate. We'll get that sometime in January or February, then we'll be filing ASAP after that. So I'm right there in the same boat with y'all! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a quick journey for all of us.

Cheers,

Nicole

Hi everyone,

We got married on New Years Eve in London, exactly one year since he proposed! Hubby is back now in the US and we have our I 130packet ready to go. Just one photocopy of the wedding certificate to be added and he'll post it tomorrow, so we'll just make it as a January filer.

Unfortunately we are under Vermont Service Centre, and having been lurking for a long while now reading guides and learning from you guys, this fills me with dread. Here's hoping they speed up in 2009.

Good luck to everyone just starting this journey - it's daunting but this website is amazing!
