Our case is F4.

the priority date is may 1997.

which was current i think in the start of this year or may b earlier.the ds-230 papers were sent in september.and then they sent the the papers for fee of processing I-130 which was supposed to b delievered before submitting I-130.that sounds wierd.cuz they send I.130 form first and then didnt ask for the fee but asked for the fee after submitting ds-230.thats a lot of time.

then in in the second week of novemeber i called them and asked if the case had been completed and it said yes.and said to call again in 15 days to get the interview date.

the on december 5 i called them again and it said the case was completed on 3rd december.i hated it.

then they said we will send papers next week that will contain the interview date.and yesterday when i called they said they cant schedule a date in january cuz of plenty of cases.

our case took almost more than month since the submission of all of form of papers to get completed and now we are seeing more delays.

i m going to get 21 this january on 24th.and they are delaying it again and again.thats not fair

plzzzzzzz tell me what can i do and how can i make them get an interview date our case was completed on 3rd december.what do u guys say when will we get an appointment in the embassy.

i m from pakistan and derivative beneficiary my mom is the pricipal beneficialry my aunt,my moms sister had filed the case for her.

please tell me what to do so that we get an interview date.nothing wrong has gone from our side.its the NVC that keep lying.

should we call everyday to pressurize them.please advise me on this matter.

and how can we get an interview date in january cuz they said they will tell the interview date but now refused to give us one injanuary.

please help

thanks

Hi,

A month at NVC is not unusual.

I also don't think anyone is lying to you, they are giving you the information they have - the info may be wrong, but that's not lying.

You do not always get an interview immediately, some consulates take more than a month or two before you will get an interview.

As far as aging out goes, you might find this thread helpful:

I would suggest that you contact the NVC and explain the situation. I believe that they are supposed to make every effort to have your interview scheduled prior to your 21st birthday if at all possible. Best of luck!

Hi Saran,

Did you read the thread that I posted the link to, above?

You may not need to get an interview before January 24th in order to still qualify (which is why I posted the links). I would really recommend you read that thread and the information in it.

Q: How do I calculate my ‘CSPA age’?

A: For preference category and derivative petitions, your ‘CSPA age’ is determined on the date that your visa, or in the case of derivative beneficiaries, the principal alien’s visa, becomes available. Your CSPA age is the result of subtracting the number of days that your immigrant visa petition was pending from your actual age on the date that your visa becomes available. If your ‘CSPA age’ is under 21 after that calculation, you will remain a child for purposes of the permanent residence application.

The NVC doesn't lie. When you are calling, you are not speaking with anyone who has the authority to make your interview appointment. In fact, you will NEVER be able to talk with the one who makes up the schedules. Instead, you talk with a customer service person who looks up your case on the computer and gives a best-guess answer to your question. That NVC employee has no reason to lie or to make excuses. Perhaps you showed your temper and got a bit obnoxious?
