Hi everyone! Well, I met a Canadian guy from Vancouver in an online forum a number of years ago and I'm in Los Angeles. We've been dating long distance now for 2+ years and have decided that we cannot live without each other anymore. Our monthly travels to see one another are becoming bittersweet and I just want to wake up next to him every day. We went looking at engagement rings when I visited him in Vancouver over 'my' Thanksgiving break. I am beyond excited. Anyhoo... as this now is pending, I've googled some of what may be involved and found you guys. It sounds like this isn't going to be as easy as I thought and I'm freaked a bit. He is the absolute love of my life and I'll undergo whatever bureaucracy I have to. We would like to have a family but I'm 35 and thee ol' clock is tickin ifyaknowhatimsayin ;). Guess I'll be filing for the K1 visa this coming year and just go through the motions hoping it doesn't take all that long. Well, anyhow, 'hello everyone' and I look forward to reading along with this forum on my own personal upcoming visa journey. We would like to get married in '09 and he'll be moving to the states to be with me here in LA and then on to Chicago so I can be back home closer to my family in Wisconsin. I just keep telling myself that nothing worth while comes easy... :) sigh

You don't have to be a Canadian to visit the Canada Forum here...it's for Can/Am couples and we have some American partners posting. Lots of good info on visiting, keeping in touch with dates. Luckily your fiance will be going through Vancouver Consulate where it's much quicker than Montreal.
